Stranger Things fans can’t sleep with their eyes closed, that’s true. You never know what truth bomb will be dropped after two weeks because the writers are always getting ready to tease the fans.
In a show like this, you never know when a certain character’s luck is going to change. So, this time, the writers decided to reveal some dirty secrets about Season 2 characters Will (Noah Schnapp) and Bob (Sean Astin).
Some fans don’t like how every time a new episode comes out, new characters die while the old ones have a great time in their evil home, Hawkings. In Season 2, it was Bob, in Season 3, it was Billy (Dacre Montgomery), and in Season 4, it was our most beloved Eddie (Joseph Quinn).
Season 2 of Stranger Things
As we wait for news about Stranger Things Season 5, which has been said to be the last season, the writers tweeted a piece of news that has caused a storm and seems to be the start of a series called “Crazy sh*t that almost happened.” Will and Bob Newby are the first people to find out about this.
In the second season, he died in a horrible way that we all remember. If you don’t, let’s jog our memories a little. Bob was the hero who saved the day because he gave himself up to the Demodogs so that the others could get away. At the time, he was introduced as Joyce Byers’ boyfriend who worked at RadioShack.
Throughout the season, he helped the Hawkings gang with his own ideas about technology. He quickly became a fan favorite because of this. Sean Astin played Samwise in the original Lord of the Rings trilogy, so he was already a big name in the world of fantasy TV shows.

Season 2 of Stranger Things will be
When making a show like the one the Duffer Brothers made, it’s clear that you can’t just have one idea and go with it. Before you give the final hit, you need to have a list of things planned out in your head. Now, the writers of “Stranger Things” have confirmed that Will’s possession was almost the reason why Bob died instead of the vicious Demodogs. If this had happened to Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder), it would have been a big blow to her mental health, and thank goodness it didn’t.
But it makes a lot of sense, since Season 2 was very hard for Will’s character, especially since he was possessed by the Mind Flayer and is still connected to it, as the Season 4 finale confirmed. Will had become so violent that he didn’t like his best friends anymore. Killing Bob would have made him even more scared for life than he already is.
Still, if this had really happened, the Byers family would have had to deal with a lot of bad things as a result. Bob’s death already made their lives hard in the future, but if Will had been to blame, it would have changed Will’s whole character arc. But we would have seen a lot more of him if the story hadn’t been about how his mind was taken over. Every season, fans have been very upset that Will isn’t on the show, especially since Noah Schapp does a great job playing the character. Maybe this would have solved the problem, but it would also have changed the way they all worked together.

Overview
Stranger Things takes place in a made-up small town in Indiana called Hawkins in the 1980s. The nearby Hawkins National Laboratory is supposed to do scientific research for the US Department of Energy, but in reality it does secret experiments on the paranormal and supernatural, some of which use people as test subjects. They have accidentally opened a door to “the Upside Down,” a different dimension. Bad things start to happen to the people of Hawkins who don’t know about the Upside Down.
In November 1983, the first season starts. Someone from the Upside Down takes Will Byers away. Joyce, his mother, Jim Hopper, the police chief of the town, and a group of volunteers are looking for him. Eleven, a young psychokinetic girl, gets out of the lab and is found by Will’s friends. Eleven makes friends with them and helps them in their search for Will.
The second season takes place in October 1984, a year after the first. Will has been saved, but he starts to have dreams about how something from the Upside Down will cause Hawkins to fall. When Will’s friends and family find out that he is still being controlled by something from the Upside Down, they learn that there is a bigger threat to their universe.
The third season takes place a few months later, in 1985, in the days leading up to the Fourth of July holiday. Hawkins residents spend most of their time at the new Starcourt Mall. The mall’s popularity has put most of the other stores in the area out of business. Hopper starts to worry more and more about the relationship between Eleven and Mike, and he becomes very protective of his daughter. The people of the town don’t know that a secret Soviet lab under Starcourt is trying to find a way to open the door to the Upside Down. The Mind Flayer is using mind control to get Billy to do what he wants.
A few months later, in March 1986, the fourth season takes place. Joyce, Will, Eleven, and Jonathan are starting over in Lenora, California. In California, Eleven is having a hard time because she has lost her powers and is being picked on at school. At the same time, in Hawkins, a creature from the Upside Down, which is later called Vecna, starts killing people, which opens new doors between the two worlds. Dr. Sam Owens and Dr. Martin Brenner take Eleven to a place where she can get her powers back so they can stop Vecna. In the meantime, Joyce and Murray fly to Russia to get Hopper out of the Kamchatka Gulag.
Matt and Ross Duffer, who work together as the Duffer Brothers, made Stranger Things. They also run the show, write most of the episodes, and direct many of them. The two had finished writing and making their movie Hidden, which came out in 2015. They had tried to make it look like an M. Night Shyamalan movie. But because of changes at Warner Bros., the movie didn’t get a wide release, and the Duffer Brothers didn’t know what to do next. To their surprise, TV producer Donald De Line approached them. He liked the script for Hidden, so he offered them the chance to work with Shyamalan on episodes of Wayward Pines. During the making of the episode, Shyamalan helped guide the brothers so that when they were done, they felt ready to make their own TV show.
The Duffer Brothers wrote a script and a 20-page “pitch book” to help find a network for the show. The script was very similar to the actual pilot episode.
They pitched the story to about fifteen cable networks, but all of them turned it down because they didn’t think it would work with children as the main characters. Instead, they told them to make it a children’s show or drop the kids and focus on Hopper’s investigation into the supernatural.
Early in 2015, Dan Cohen, who was the Vice President of 21 Laps Entertainment, gave Shawn Levy the script. After that, they had the Duffer Brothers come to their office and bought the rights to the series, giving the brothers full authorship of it. After watching the pilot, the streaming service Netflix bought the whole season for an undisclosed amount. In early April 2015, Netflix said the series would come out in 2016.
The Duffer Brothers said that when they pitched their idea to Netflix, the company was already known for its original shows like House of Cards and Orange Is the New Black, which were made by well-known producers, and was ready to give new producers like them a chance.
The brothers started looking for actors and then brought in Levy and Cohen as other executive producers to talk about story ideas. Levy also directed the show.

The show used to be called “Montauk.” The story took place in Montauk, New York, and nearby places on Long Island. A number of real-world conspiracy theories about secret government experiments had to do with Montauk. The brothers chose Montauk because Spielberg used it as the setting for the made-up island Amity Island in the movie Jaws. After deciding to change the story so that it takes place in the made-up town of Hawkins, the brothers felt like they could do things to the town, like put it under quarantine, that they couldn’t do in a real place.
Ted Sarandos, who works for Netflix, told them they needed a new name for the show because it was moving. This was so they could start advertising it to the public. The brothers started by looking at a copy of Stephen King’s book Firestarter to think about the font and style of the title. They then made a long list of possible alternatives. Stranger Things came about because it sounded like another King book, Needful Things, though Matt said they still had “a lot of heated arguments” over the final title.
