Lord Babington: What Happened To Him?

Sidney Parker comes back to Sanditon in the first episode of season 1 with Lord Babington and Mr. Crowe, two of his rich friends who live in the town. He brings them with him in the hope that they will invest and enjoy the resort, which will help his brother, Tom, with the money. Lord Babington dances with Esther Denham at the Sanditon Ball right away because he is interested in her.

Esther’s rich aunt, Lady Denham, thinks he’s a good match for her niece and wants her to respond to him. However, no one knows that the young lady is in love with her half-brother, Edward Denham, who is very clever and manipulates her for his own benefit.

Lord Babington, on the other hand, does everything he can to get Esther to fall in love with him, even though she is cold and uninterested. Even though she is in love with Edward, she gets down when he says that they should look for new partners in order to get Lady Denham’s inheritance. To please her aunt and Edward, Esther answers Lord Babington’s letter in the fifth episode of season 1. She agrees to go for an afternoon outing with him.

Lord Babington manages to impress Esther, and she soon realises that she enjoys his company and witty nature, which is very different from Edward’s sleight of hand and dismissive ways. Though she thinks about the bright future he has in store for her, her half-sibling again tries to change her mind by making false promises of being together. Thus, when Lord Babington wants to keep their relationship going, Esther impulsively rejects him, even though she doesn’t know what Edward is up to.

As time goes on, Esther finds out about Edward and Clara’s betrayal and is shocked by her secret lover’s cruelty. That’s why she shows them to their aunt. She’s surprised to find out that she is well and banishes Clara and Edward from her life and money. So Lord Babington steps in and takes Esther out in a carriage. He still cares about Esther, and that’s a good thing! There, he gives her the reins of the horses, which is a sign of how much he likes her.

Esther’s hard exterior hides a troubled soul that Lord Babington can see. He also wants to give her the happiness and security she needs. She, too, starts to like how he is gentle and how he makes her laugh. As they go to the Midsummer Ball together in season 1 episode 8, Edward shows up and makes a huge fuss when he says that he and Esther had an affair. He then makes her say what she really thinks, much to her dismay.

People in the town are looking at Esther because she broke up with Edward. Lord Babington is expected to shun her. Then, to her surprise, he doesn’t care about what people think and proposes to her because he loves her. Esther agrees, and the couple gets married and leaves Sanditon. As the ninth season starts, she comes back to town as a happily married woman. She lives with her aunt. Her bad news: She tells us that she lost a baby at five months. She has been trying to get pregnant again for a long time now. Meanwhile, the people in the town and Lady Denham want to know where her husband is.

Mark Stanley: Did He leave Sanditon?

It’s a shame that Mark Stanley won’t be playing Lord Babington again because he has left “Sanditon.” This is what they said in an interview: He won’t be back because his other projects will conflict with the show. Apart from that, his character’s story arc came to an end in season 1 when he married Esther, which was a good ending for his story.

However, even though the chances of Mark coming back are slim, they can’t be completely ruled out. As long as Lord Babington and the people who made the movie don’t change their minds, he might be back in “Sanditon” with his beloved wife. The movie ‘Elizabeth Is Missing’ came out after Mark left the show. He got the part of Frank.
