Her sister, Alison Heywood, also comes with her to Sanditon in the hope of finding her own Prince Charming, as does her brother. There are two smart young soldiers in the batallion of Colonel Lennox: Captain Declan Fraser and Captain William Carter. The beautiful lady also catches their attention. People wonder who Alison will fall in love with as both men try to get her heart. Let’s talk about each one, shall we? There are going to be spoilers down the road.

Alison and Captain Fraser: Will They End Up Together?

When Captain Declan Fraser fights, he is brave. He has seen the terrible things that happen in war, and he has scars from them. This man is very honest because he was on the battlefield and was hurt. He doesn’t hold back and doesn’t seem very nice. However, he is very aware of his scars and uses humour as a way to hide his awkwardness. The first time he meets Alison in season 2 episode 1 she makes him laugh with her wit.

But at the Mess Dinner in the second episode, Alison prefers to be with Captain William Carter, while Declan is a little down. It’s clear that she’s too interested in his coworker to pay much attention to him as they sit next to each other in the classroom. Later, Declan gives William advice on how to get Alison’s attention, because William isn’t very good at it.

Alison also says that Declan isn’t very well-dressed when she meets him while collecting flowers for the Midsummer Fair in episode 3. She again declares her love for William. Declan reveals a new side of himself later when he tells William about the poetry book he took to war. He says that it helped him keep his mind from going crazy. He tells him to use the poems in his letter to Alison to do that.

Declan gradually shows that he has more in common with Alison than with William, which is not what she thought. That’s why she might like Declan better than the person that she wants when she sees it and gets to know him more. Even though he was trying to help his friend, he may also have fallen in love with Alison and try to win her heart.

Is Alison and Captain Carter going to end up together?

Colonel Lennox’s battalion has Captain William Carter, a young man who looks up to him as an older brother and friend. He is a little less experienced than the other people in his group and comes from a rich and well-protected background. There is a lot of time when he acts like he isn’t very mature or quick. His act of heroism in season 2 episode 1 makes him fall in love with her.

Alison likes the man who saved her, too, and wants to get to know him better. She is very excited when he sends her an invite to the Mess Dinner through Declan. At the party, she doesn’t pay attention to the other people and chooses to dance with William. It doesn’t matter what Georgiana and Charlotte say about not hurrying things up. Alison is smitten and thinks he is the best.

Even though he has Alison’s attention, William is a little afraid to charm her and asks Declan for advice on how to act polished in front of her, which shows his childish side. This is even more clear in episode 3 when Alison asks him about his travel plans. Another thing that she wants him to tell her about is what he did in the war. He tells her about an experience he had in BitterSour.

In the meantime, William can’t come up with a good answer to Alison’s letter, so he takes Declan’s poetry book to write it. Later, when Alison asks him why he chose that poem, he can’t say more because he had already copied it. It is also revealed that he told her the whole BitterSour story was a lie, as Declan calls him out on his lie.

William’s actions show that even though he is interested in Alison, it isn’t clear if he is even interested in her at all. He pretends to be someone else in front of her, which makes her want more from him. The more he lies and is childish in his search for Alison, the more likely he is to hurt her when she sees through his lies. If William wants to have a long-term relationship with her, he needs to be more honest and tell her the truth.
