His father played county cricket for Northamptonshire CCC at the time of Sam’s birth. World-Wide Career of Sam Curran

At the 2011–12 CSA U13 Week in South Africa, Curran competed for the Zimbabwe Cricket U13s cricket team and earned player of the competition.

He played all six games for the England Under-19s at the 2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup[28], representing England’s under-19 squad. His 201 runs and seven wickets helped his team finish sixth. He was chosen to play for the England Lions during their tours of the United Arab Emirates in 2016–17 and again in their 2017 encounter against South Africa A at Canterbury.

In January 2018 during the 2017–18 Trans-Tasman Tri-Series against Australia and New Zealand, Curran gained his first senior call-up for England but did not participate in any matches.
