Production of Halloween Ends
Danny McBride and David Gordon Green said in June 2018 that they had originally planned to present two movies that would be shot back-to-back but changed their minds after waiting to see how the first movie did:
“Two of them were going to be shot back-to-back. Then we said, “Let’s not jump to conclusions just yet. If this was revealed, everyone would despise us, and we would never again cooperate. Therefore, let’s avoid waiting about for a year for another movie that we know won’t be well received to come out. So, we thought, “Let’s take note of this and determine what works and what doesn’t.” However, we are aware of the direction we would take this tale branch, and we hope to have the opportunity to do so.”
Producer Jason Blum stated that “we will do a sequel if the movie performs” in September 2018.
A month later, on the opening weekend of the brand-new movie Halloween, McBride announced that early work on a sequel had begun.
Bloody Disgusting stated in July 2019 that a third movie was also in the works, with Green serving as the film’s director once more. Additionally, according to the website, the company was thinking of releasing both movies in October 2020. Green, McBride, and Jeff Fradley had a two-film plot in mind, but they decided on a trilogy when they discovered they had more material than they had anticipated. Pre-Production of Halloween Ends
It was announced in December 2021 that Kyle Richards would play the same part in the movie. Filming of Halloween Ends
The “tight schedule” prevented Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends from being filmed back-to-back as originally intended.
Blum announced in March 2020 that summertime filming would take place. The COVID-19 epidemic subtly caused filming to be postponed. The anticipated start date for production in Wilmington, North Carolina, was 2021.
Courtney announced in August 2021 that shooting will start on January 10, 2022. However, under the working title Cave Dweller, filming started on January 19, 2022, in Savannah, Georgia.
