In actuality, shortly after Derek and Maria Broaddus began the process of renovating their home located at 657 Boulevard in Westfield, New Jersey, they began to receive peculiar letters from a person who only identified themselves as “The Watcher.” Although there are numerous discrepancies between the events depicted in the series and those that actually took place, the core of the plot has not changed in any significant way.
After he had finished painting for the day in June 2014, Derek Broaddus made the decision to check the mail on his new house before going to bed. He was going through his mail when he came across an envelope in the shape of a card that was white in color and contained a letter signed “The Watcher.” The letter began in a friendly manner and seemed to extend a warm welcome to the new family who had moved into the neighborhood; however, it soon took an odd turn. The author of the letter stated that their family had been watching 657 Boulevard ever since the 1920s, when the stranger’s grandfather first started watching the show. In the vicinity of 1905 is when the Broaddus family first built the home that they later purchased for a price of 1.3 million dollars.
The letter provided specifics of what “The Watcher” had discovered regarding the Broaddus family’s new residence and the changes they were making to their lives there. Plot of The Watcher
Since Francis has just started a new career in Bucharest, Julia and her husband make the move there. Julia is unable to speak Romanian, and Francis works long hours, so she often feels alone in their flat, which features a wide picture window with a view of the building next door.
When Julia and Francis are out on a nighttime stroll, they happen into the police as they are reacting to a homicide scene. Julia finds out that a serial murderer has been killing and beheading young women in their apartments while she is having dinner with Francis’s coworkers at the restaurant where Francis works.
Julia has the sneaking suspicion that one of their neighbors is observing them at their home. Even though there are plenty of empty seats, a scary man always chooses to sit immediately behind her whenever she goes to the movies. After that, when she goes to the grocery store, it appears that the man is following her. She tells Francis, and he takes her back to the store, but the footage of the man from the CCTV cameras is inconclusive. Julia makes an effort to file a report with the authorities, but they do not believe her tale.
Irina, who lives in the apartment next door to Julia and is fluent in English, becomes one of Julia’s acquaintances. Irina demonstrates to her the weapon that Christian, her erratic former boyfriend, gave her so that she could protect herself. After some time has passed, Julia spots the same man who was in the store outside on the street. She pursues him, and eventually finds him in a shady strip club in the basement, where he allegedly works as a janitor. Irina, who is also a dancer, is the one who Julia confides in about everything that has been taking place.

Story of The Watcher
As was to be expected, the family became terrified about what to do and ultimately decided to cease bringing their children. This resulted in “The Watcher” sending a second letter, in which they inquired about the location of the family and why the house seemed to be missing them so much.
