How Did George Redmond Fare?

On September 1st, about 3.20 am, a fire broke out in their Dorien Road, Old Swan home when George Redmond and Mary, his wife of 52 years, were asleep in bed.
Witnesses have reported to the ECHO that a “petrol can” was left on the driveway of the residence.
Additionally, Merseyside Police has confirmed that the fire was purposefully caused.
Residents of the street told the ECHO that they “very positively” believe the incident was the consequence of a mistaken identity and that they are unable to think of any justification for anyone hurting the couple.

In Glasgow’s downtown, George Redmond was wounded in a drive-by gunshot in October 2008.
On a Monday night, he had been out with a companion and was ready to leave the bar when a black Porsche Cayenne SUV with a 05 license plate, or registration LJ05 FHR, drove by and a shooter began fire at around 10.25 p.m. The SUV was initially spotted parked in a side street across from the bar. Afterwards, it was spotted driving away toward the M8 eastbound and later in the Wishaw region. Later, it was believed that the SUV had been discovered burned out in a gated community in Gartcosh, Lanarkshire. According to rumors, it was stolen in the past and valued in Glasgow’s Spring burn region.
According to earlier reports, the shooter was riding a motorcycle when he committed the shooting.
At least nine rounds were fired at a distance of around 15 feet by the shooter. The weapon was believed to have been an automatic handgun.
The police knew both George Redmond and his friend, and they were both escorted to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Shortly after arrival, George Redmond passed away. Despite receiving injuries to the body and limbs, his companion lived.

George Redmond Was Shot In The Back
According to the third man he had been with at the time, George simply kept repeating, “I’m gone, I’m gone.” It didn’t look good, but I held him in my arms and comforted him, telling him, “You’re not going anywhere, you’ll be all right, I love you.” He lost consciousness while his eyes were rolling in his brain. George understood he would pass away. It was awful. I saw flashes and heard bangs across the entire tavern. I was in awe of what I was seeing.
Police stated that they believed George Redmond’s stabbing of a heroin dealer in a Duke Street tavern two years prior contributed to the shooting. Police questioned the drug dealer over the murder but decided not to press charges. But in September, after a significant narcotics bust, he was found guilty and given a sentence of more than six years in prison.
Some of George Redmond’s associates claimed that a gang leader in the security sector had ordered the shooting, while others said that a Cambridge Street heroin dealer had orchestrated it.
Later known as The Cambridge, the Waldorf bar was the focus of a police investigation in June 2011 that revealed the owner had permitted narcotics dealers to sell cocaine there. According to the police, they discovered a cocaine production line and a drug dealer with a gun. The Cambridge was closed down, the owner’s license was revoked, and it was rumored that another business would be taking over. At the owners licensing board hearing, it was revealed that the owners had declined to assist the police when they were called to the scene of some of the bar’s patrons fighting outside because they didn’t want to be seen as grasses. The police had also raided the establishment a year earlier in connection with suspected drug offenses.
According to reports, George Redmond has a history of using excessive violence. He was also rumored to have worked for a significant gang in the area. According to reports, a man allegedly ruffled a friend’s hair in 2004 at a drug dealer’s funeral. He then allegedly stabbed the friend and gave the order for a friend to get a shotgun out of a car and shoot him. However, the man’s wife reportedly threw herself on top of her husband and begged for his life. A convicted bank robber and a convicted killer had also begged for the man’s life.
After the drug dealer accused one of George Redmond’s friends of stealing a Subaru car from his group, it was claimed that in the weeks before he was killed, George Redmond ran over an ex-policeman who dealt drugs. George Redmond’s Suspect
