Power has a price. And The Dutton’s are going to find that out in season 5. John Dutton is sworn in as Governor of Montana, fires everyone and appoints Beth as Chief of Staff. The Dutton’s are not looking to take their feet off the gas anytime soon!

Yellowstone Season 5: Preview
The phrase “Next time in Yellowstone” is one of my favourites. Though much shorter than the general Season 5 preview that aired at the end of the premiere, the teaser for Episode 4 nevertheless provides some intriguing glimpses into what lies ahead.
The teaser begins with a famous scene: John Dutton is outside the ranch, holding a beverage. We hear him add, “I stepped on a few landmines,” as the image changes to show him in his office with three officers.
We then cut to Lynelle and John (played by Wendy Moniz) seated across from one another at a posh table. “Once you open that Pandora’s box, it does not close,” she warns him.
Jamie says, “You just sit here and hope she doesn’t file formal charges,” as we observe Beth in jail awaiting bail. The victim of Beth’s assault, Hailey, enters the police station wearing a black eye and sits down to speak with Jamie. Hear Beth give him these vital instructions: “You’re going to stop her.”
We observe Thomas Rainwater telling John, “We do need to talk,” after a shot of several vehicles leaving the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch. Many profoundly dissatisfied people
When Jamie of Market Equities tells Sarah Atwood (Dawn Olivieri), “You won’t win,” she responds with a sneer, “We don’t have to win. Just assassinating your father’s reputation is all that remains.
They will come after you with both barrels, governor. An officer warns Governor John Dutton before the preview ends.
Yellowstone Season 5: Plot
Several unresolved storylines from Yellowstone’s final season need to be addressed.
As the trailer implied, John Dutton will take office as the next governor of Montana, and he will use this newfound authority to pursue his campaign for the Yellowstone Ranch.
Additionally, reports of him dating activist Summer Higgins, who is in jail after many arrests, have surfaced.
Then there is Jamie, who Beth recently destroyed and who now faces an unclear future, indicating that he won’t be pursuing a political career.
But multiple shots of Jamie working from what appeared to be a government office were shown in the teaser. How will the Duttons employ him this time is the question, then.
Furthermore, Beth’s next step is a mystery now that she has been fired from Market Equities. We only know that she will continue battling beside her father and trample everyone who attempts to stand in her way.
Yellowstone Season 5: Cast
Carter’s position in the Dutton family is still up in the air. Thus Beth must now also consider him.
In the previous season, Kayce Dutton undertook a vision quest that left him with more unresolved issues.
Even though some local ranchers want him to run for governor, he currently has a secure position as the livestock commissioner. But with John assuming the post, we might observe his rededicating himself to his family.
Jimmy and his fiance Emily are last but certainly not least; they left the Yellowstone ranch to begin a new life in Texas. If the main event is saved for the future spin-off 6666, we might even see the wedding, as we know they will return the following season.
We’re crossing our fingers that Yellowstone Season 5 will provide answers to these and other questions.

John Dutton, played by Kevin Costner, is the family’s father and is driven to safeguard their land and legacy at any cost. With Bull Durham, The Untouchables, The Bodyguard, and Dances With Wolves, Costner has already played several iconic roles that define him, including John Dutton.
Beth Dutton, played by Kelly Reilly, is one of John Dutton’s children and a cunning businesswoman. She is also her father’s staunchest supporter. Reilly is renowned for his work on Cavalry and Flight.
The youngest son of John Dutton, played by Luke Grimes, Kayce tries to strike a balance between what’s best for his father and his wife and son. Fifty Shades of Grey and American Sniper are a couple of Luke Grimes’ other filmography credits.

Jamie Dutton, played by Wes Bentley, is the adopted son of John Dutton and the family’s black sheep. The films Interstellar and American Beauty were directed by Wes Bentley.
Rip Wheeler, Beth’s husband and the Yellowstone Ranch’s foreman, is portrayed by Cole Hauser (Rogue, Olympus Has Fallen); Monica Dutton, Kayce’s wife, is characterized by Kelsey Asbille (Fargo, Wind River); and Tate Dutton, Kayce’s kid, is portrayed by Brecken Merrill.

Additional cast members who will participate in season 5 have been reported by The Wrap(opens in new tab). There will be other flashback scenes resulting from these, including the reappearance of Josh Lucas as young John Dutton, Kylie Rogers as young Beth Dutton, and Kyle Red Silverstein as young Rip Wheeler. The season 4 antagonist Caroline Warner, played by Jacki Weaver, is also returned.
Additionally, some fresh faces have been revealed for season 5. They include Dawn Olivieri as Sarah Atwood, a new corporate player who moves to Montana. Lainey Wilson as Abby, a musician; Lilly Kay as Clara Brewer, the Duttons’ new secretary; and Kai Caster as Rowdy, a young cowboy.
Yellowstone Season 5: Where To Watch?
On Sunday, November 13, Yellowstone Season 5 made its television debut on the Paramount Network with the episode “One Hundred Years is Nothing.” Each episode will air every Sunday until the conclusion and can only be seen live on the Paramount Network with the required cable subscription. Episodes will be sold on iTunes, Amazon Video, and Vudu once they have aired. The entire season can also be pre-purchased on iTunes, Amazon Video, and Vudu before its debut for viewers without access to the Paramount network. Despite Seasons 1-4 streaming on Peacock, Season 5 won’t be accessible during its duration. After that, all of the episodes will be made accessible to view on Peacock once Season 5 has concluded airing. Fans of Yellowstone will also enjoy this season, consisting of two chapters and 14 episodes as opposed to the previous seasons’ 10 episodes.

Yellowstone Season 4: Review
Yellowstone season 4 begins a few months after the cliffhanger of season 3, in which Beth, Kayce, and John are all attacked. John Dutton is waking up from a coma in the hospital. The other family members are all still alive, but they are all experiencing various difficulties. The explosion on her back burns Beth and Kayce attempts to comfort Monica and Tate, who is terrified.
Beth meets Carter, a teenager whose father overdoses while caring for her father. She extends an invitation to Carter to live and work on the ranch. They’ll need the extra help since John sends Jimmy to the Texas ranch 6666 in a last-ditch attempt to try and become a real cowboy after he recovers from another mishap involving a charging horse.
Market Equity is starting work on the airport it plans to build as part of the campaign to prevent the sale of Yellowstone, and Caroline Warner, a new CEO who will be in charge of everything, is moving to Montana. Caroline offers Beth a position so that she will fight for them rather than against them; however, Beth’s first devotion is always to her father, so she takes advantage of the chance to learn more about Market Equity’s strategy and attempt to thwart it from within. This includes utilizing a John Dutton-friendly environmentalist as a pawn to create an attention-getting protest on Market Equity’s construction site.
To aid Kayce and his family through their difficulties and share important information with John concerning who was hired to assault him and his family, Thomas Rainwater and the Duttons continue to put their once-current and probably-future enmity on wait. According to the information, an inmate planned the assault on the Duttons, but before this, he doesn’t seem to have had any association with them. John sends Kayce to ask Jamie for assistance in interviewing the prisoner, although their relationship is still hostile (and as a test). Jamie nods in agreement but soon realizes that one of the inmate’s former cellmates is Garrett Randle, his birth father. Jamie tries to confront him, but he isn’t sure which father he wants to be truly devoted to. He does not address John and lets Randle live.
Things get even more challenging when Governor Perry decides to run for the Senate and must support a replacement. She initially promises John that she will back Jamie, but John thinks that’s a bad idea and only grudgingly agrees to help Jamie. Jamie is surprised when he learns the news, but he makes an effort to devise a plan to escape.
Market Equity fires Beth at the end of the season after her activities are made public, but she has more significant problems to solve. When she discovers the truth about their assailant, she uses it to coerce Jamie into killing Randle under threat of her owning him. Beth marries Rip to cap off her hectic two days.
