The Ottawa Police Homicide Unit charged Yohanna David Chol with second-degree murder after he shot and killed someone in Lowertown on Friday night.
Vuyo Kashe was found with gunshot wounds in the middle of Clarence Street, between King Edward Avenue and Nelson Street. At the scene, he was said to be dead. Kashe pleaded guilty in 2013 and was sentenced to four years in prison for two robberies he committed while carrying a stolen knife worth $310.
Shane Kozakavich’s defense lawyer says that his drug problems at the time led to the robberies. He said that one of the people Kashe robbed told police that he told her he was sorry and wouldn’t hurt her again.

Yohanna is known for killing Vuyo right now. On Sunday, he was caught and charged with second-degree murder.

Vuyo Kashe Murderer Arrest And Charges
The Ottawa Police Homicide Unit says that Yohanna Chol has been charged with second-degree murder for a shooting that killed someone in Lowertown on Friday night.
Around 11:40 p.m. on Friday, there was a shooting. Police say that Kashe was found dead on the ground the next day. Pilon says that the police think the victim and the suspect knew each other. Officers found the gun that was used to kill the person.
Staff Sergeant Jeff Pilon told CTV News Ottawa on Sunday that witness statements and surveillance video helped police find a suspect in the murder.
He also said that we didn’t have any eyewitnesses at first, but after the fact, witnesses were able to point us in the right direction.”
Where is Yohanna David Chol? Shooting in Lowertown
Chol was taken into custody by police on Saturday night, and he went to court on Sunday. He had to stay in jail.
A neighbor who heard the gunshot said that Kashe opened fire on Clarence between King Edward and Nelson Streets at about 11:40 p.m. the night before. Saturday, there were still questions about what happened.
Saturday, police said that people in the area heard gunshots and called 911 more than once. The victim was found dead in the street. Staff Sergeant Jeff Pilon of the homicide unit said on Saturday that there were no signs of a threat to the public.
Pilon also said that if there are any witnesses who haven’t spoken up yet, we’d like to talk to them, and if anyone has video of the shooting, we’d love to see it.”
Christie Millen, who lives on Clarence Street and is 38 years old, called 911. She heard the gunshots—five or six, according to what several neighbors told this newspaper—and went to the front door, where she found Kashe lying in the street.
She waited a minute after calling for help because she wanted to make sure no one was still shooting. She went outside later to check to see if he was still alive. As soon as the police arrived and told everyone to sit down, she quickly moved away.
