Richard Allen Schwieger is an American TV host, play-by-play announcer, and voice actor who goes by the stage name Rick Allen.
He currently works for NBC Sports, where he does play-by-play commentary for the NASCAR Cup Series and the Xfinity Series, as well as temporary coverage for the International Motor Sports Association and track & field.
Before that, he did play-by-play analysis for Fox Sports’ NASCAR Camping World Truck Series coverage and voice-over work for many companies, including Goodyear, Sears, Alltel, and Toyota.

Allen said on July 23, 2014, that the Truck Series race in Eldora would be his last for Fox Sports since he was now only under contract with NBC.
In the same way, he got a standing ovation at the drivers’ meeting before the Truck Series race because that was where he spent most of his time. Allen was replaced by Steve Byrnes after he died in April 2015 from head and neck cancer.
