Security Guard Fall & died at Massachusetts country club for Golf U.S. Open

A security guard died after collapsing at a country club in Massachusetts that will host the US Open golf competition.

According to NBC Boston, the worker, who has not been officially identified, was a subcontractor for the USGA and was working on a project at The Country Club in Brookline overnight when he plummeted between 10 and 12 feet.
The body of the 60-year-old was discovered the next morning by his coworkers, according to Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey’s office, according to the Boston Globe.

“According to the first report, he had been working an overnight security shift at the site. According to the injuries and evidence found at the scene, he may have fallen from a decking area behind a tent that lacked rails. OSHA was dispatched to the scene to launch an inquiry into workplace safety “The D.A.’s office kept going.

According to the Boston Globe, the evidence so far indicates that the fall was an accident, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine on the cause of death at a later date.
The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office did not respond to a request for comment from PEOPLE right away.

“What happened at our championship site overnight has deeply saddened the USGA. This is an ongoing investigation, and we’re collaborating with local authorities to figure out what happened “In a statement, the USGA tells PEOPLE.
The Country Club also informs the general public “is heartbroken by the incident that transpired earlier today. The guy and his family are in our thoughts and prayers.”
The United States Open golf tournament will take place from June 16 to June 19.
