A man from Staten Island, New York, was held after giving Rudy Giuliani a pat on the back at a grocery store campaign event for his son Andrew Giuliani’s run for governor.
Rudy Giuliani, whose full name is Rudolph William Louis Giuliani, was the 107th Mayor of New York City from 1994 to 2001. He was a politician and lawyer in the United States.
He was the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York from 1983 to 1989. From 1981 to 1983, he was the US Associate Attorney General.
In the 1980s, Giuliani was the attorney for the Southern District of New York. He was in charge of prosecuting mafia bosses in New York City. In 1989, he ran for mayor of New York City but lost. In 1993, though, he won.
What happened with Rudy Giuliani?
Police in New York City say that a man was taken into custody on Sunday after it was said that he had hit former Mayor Rudy Giuliani in the back.
Police say Giuliani was campaigning for his son Andrew, who is running for governor of New York in the Republican primary, in the Staten Island neighbourhood of the city, where the 39-year-old man works at a ShopRite.
The police say that the man “came up to him and hit him in the back.”
Andrew Giuliani said in an email, “We will not be scared by attacks from the left. “As governor, I will protect law and order to give New Yorkers a sense of safety again.”
Police wouldn’t say who the person was, and they didn’t say what specific claims led them to decide to hold him.
The New York Post published surveillance footage from a store that shows someone coming up behind Giuliani from behind and slapping him on the back. The mayor didn’t seem to react much to this.
