Christopher Rivera, son of Ron Rivera, went to the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and got a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Stage Management in 2008.

He got a job as a Stage Manager at the Walt Disney Studios after he graduated. He has held several positions at Disneyland Resort, including Assistant Stage Manager, Productions Specialist, and Assistant Project Controller.

Ron Rivera’s wife, Stephanie Rivera, is married to Ron Rivera. Stephanie Rivera is a retired assistant coach for the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) Women’s Washington Mystics based in Charlotte, North Carolina. So, the press often refers to her as “the coach behind the coach.”

In August 1983, they met by chance at Yogurt Park near UC Berkeley. They got to know each other and decided to get married in 1984. Stephanie was a point guard for the women’s basketball team, and Ron Rivera was a star linebacker back then.

They had seen each other in the gym at their university, but they had never met. So, Stephanie didn’t know that he was an All-American before the season.

Ronald Eugene Rivera, also known as “Riverboat Ron,” was born on January 7, 1962. He is currently the head coach of the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL). In the early 1980s, when he was a student at the University of California, Berkeley, he was an All-American linebacker for the Golden Bears. After he graduated, he played for the Chicago Bears for nine years. In 1985, he was a part of the team that won Super Bowl XX. In the 1984 NFL Draft, they picked him in the second round.

Rivera got his start as a coach when he joined the Bears in 1997 as a quality control coach. In 2002, he went to work for the Philadelphia Eagles as their linebackers coach. In 2004, he went back to the Chicago Bears as their defensive coordinator. He helped linebacker Brian Urlacher win Defensive Player of the Year the next year, which earned him the PFWA award for Assistant Coach of the Year. Rivera went on a couple of job interviews for head coach around this time, and the team played in Super Bowl XLI in 2006. In 2007, he started working for the San Diego Chargers as a linebackers coach. The next year, he was promoted to defensive coordinator.

After three years with the Chargers, Rivera was hired as the head coach of the Carolina Panthers. He went on to become their all-time leader in wins.
