Lifetime has given us a wide variety of episodes and films to suit every mood. The network is back with another film of this type, “Trapped with my Husband,” which is a riveting thriller that you shouldn’t miss.
The thriller “Trapped with My Husband,” which was directed by Roxanne Boisvert, centres on Melissa, a fashion designer who has just wed Kevin. She is unaware of the web of deceit he has built around her in order to trap her and extract money from her.
In order to win Melissa’s heart, Kevin sets up a theft in the beginning of the film. The pair gets married and starts living together after a year. When Melissa returns home to prepare dinner, she invites Kevin to help, but he leaves using the pretext that he has to go to work in order to make out with Grace, a young hostess at his restaurant. Conour, Melissa’s boss, confesses his feelings for her to a buddy in the meantime.
Melissa is attacked by a man who says Kevin owes him $3,000 while Kevin and Grace are having sex in his car. The following day, Kevin’s ex sees Melissa and spills the beans to her. She discovers Kevin is cheating on her when she gets home. She confronts him with everything and makes the decision to divorce him. The following morning, the two have a quarrel in front of their neighbours, and things turn ugly. While Kevin tries to obtain the funds that Quinn, his ex, need, Melissa moves out. In order to keep the money for himself, he meets her and ultimately kills her.
While Kevin continues to irritate Melissa by demanding that she pay for all of his obligations, Melissa consults with her attorney about expediting the divorce procedure. To demonstrate his power, he threatens Melissa with a gun. The following day, Melissa becomes angry and plans to exact revenge on him. As Kevin works to harm Melissa’s business, Grace grows increasingly upset with Kevin for ignoring her.
When the time finally comes for Melissa and Kevin to discuss their divorce, Kevin is adamant that he wants the sum of money that would result from their separation. Kevin ultimately loses patience and requests a secluded location to see Melissa. When she does, he holds her as a prisoner and demands that she sign divorce documents so that he can have all the money he desires and a share of her business. Conour, who had followed Melissa on the off chance that things may go wrong, enters the fray at that same moment and knocks Kevin to the ground. The whole matter is addressed after calling the police to the scene. Melissa struggles to move on with her life as Kevin is jailed for kidnapping and violence.
