Willow (1998): Who Is Mims?

Mims Ufgood is the daughter of Kaiya and Willow Ufgood, both of whom were residents of the Nelwyn neighborhood. In the movie “The Willow” from 1988, the character Mims is featured.

In the film, she and her brother Ranon find baby Elora Danon floating in the River Green. They take her in and care for her.

When Elora showed up one day, everyone in The High Aldwin was overjoyed to see the coming of their savior. They had been waiting for her for a long time.

Mims is a likeable character who acts in the best interests of Elora and Willow by deceiving Ballantine about their whereabouts. She stayed in Nelwyn as Elora and Willow went searching for an Airk who had been kidnapped.

When Ballantine arrived, he questioned her about where Elora was hiding; she was aware that the reason he was hunting for Elora was not a positive one. Therefore, in order to deceive him, she told him that she and Willow had returned to Tir Asleen.

In the movie, Dawn Downing portrayed Mims, the character she was cast in. Annabelle Davis played the role of an adult in the new Willow series.

The story is about a willow tree. Additionally, her father, Warwick Davis, the actor who plays Willow on the show, is her father.

Dawn was only six years old when she played a role in the movie that was released in 1988. She was born in 1982.

At this point in her life, she is in her forties and leads a quiet life away from the public eye. After playing that part, she never worked in the film industry again.

Willow (1998): Who Is Ranon?

Mims has an elder brother named Ranon, who is also the son of Mims’s mother, Willow Ufgood. He had a sibling who was a female and was the firstborn child of Kaiya and Willow.

When he and his sister were out having fun by the river, they were the ones who came across Elora. They take her in as a guest in their house.

The citizens of the village are under the impression that both children have inherited their father’s magical power.

While Ranon had an incredible knack for detecting fish in the river, Mims was able to produce paintings of events that would later occur in the world.

Meet Mark As Ranon

Mark Vandebrake was the one who gave life to the character of Ranon. In the United States of America, he was born in the city of Granite Falls on July 28th, 1980.

After making an appearance in Willow, he did not go on to work in the film industry again. And although there is no Ranon character in the new series, Davis revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that he has no idea where Ranon is at the moment in time when the series begins up.

In addition to this, he stated that Ranon is still alive but that no one knows where he is. And he continued by saying that Davis is the only one who is aware of a few things that have occurred in relation to Willow.

It would appear that there is a plot revolving around Ranon’s absence from the show.

Willow (1998): Warwick Davis

In reality, it was Warwick’s first cinematic role that paved the path for her to be cast in ‘Willow.’ He first came to George Lucas’ attention when he was cast in the role of an Ewok in “Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.”

This resulted in first obtaining an on-set promotion from the role of an Ewok extra to the role of a lead character named Wicket, and then a comical documentary short titled “Return of the Ewok.”

Lucas was so enamored with the young actor, who had just turned 13 at the time that “Return of the Jedi” was released, that he conceived up “Willow” as a vehicle specifically for him.

It is important to note that Willow was the first role that Davis portrayed in which his face was not concealed by a mask or prosthetic makeup.

While many performers who are small in stature have had limited opportunities in film and television, Warwick has been able to find a variety of roles, the most of which have been in the genres of fantasy, science fiction, and horror films.

In addition to playing the lead part in all six films in the “Leprechaun” horror trilogy, he is also known for his performances in the “Star Wars” prequels and the “Harry Potter” movies.

The next year, in 2011, he became the star of the Ricky Gervais-produced mockumentary series ‘Life’s Too Short,’ which catapulted his career to new heights, if you will.

Willow (1998): Plot

A young farmer by the name of Willow Ufgood is coaxed away from his safe home in order to protect a baby girl named Elora Danan who is destined to be saved from the clutches of a wicked sorceress named Queen Bavmorda, who wishes for her to be destroyed.

The disillusioned master swordsman Madmartigan, who has turned to a life of roguery after the fall of his kingdom to the evil queen, and the sorceress Fin Raziel, who has been converted into a muskrat by Bavmorda are both helping Willow.

Bavmorda has also transformed Fin Raziel into a muskrat. They are initially unsuccessful, but the queen’s daughter, Sorsha, eventually comes to their aid.

From her stronghold at Nockmar Castle, Bavmorda has ruled the land with an iron fist for a good number of years.

Then, a prediction is made: a little girl will be born into this world. This small girl will one day grow up to become a great empress, and she will be the one responsible for Queen Bavmorda’s fall from power.

The Queen cannot allow this to occur, so she orders all of the pregnant women in the kingdom to give themselves over to her and plans to put the newborn infant to death as soon as she is born.

It is not possible for her to simply murder the child. The Queen needs to perform a ceremony that will cast the child’s soul into the underworld in order to kill her daughter in a way that is truly effective.

Finally, a girl baby is delivered, and she may be identified by a mark on her arm. The Queen’s daughter, the warrior princess Sorsha, is informed by one of the midwives, and she immediately rushes to get her mother.

The mother of the infant begs another midwife to assist them in some way. She is willing to lend a hand. She then offers the mother a bundle of rags to use as a distraction while she conceals the baby in a basket full of rags.

After that, the midwife secretly smuggles the newborn away from the castle. When the Queen arrives, she finds the decoy, and immediately suspects the midwife of being the culprit.

She orders her men and the Devil Dogs to pursue her, and she has the mother put to death.

The midwife will continue her journey throughout the country over the next few months, ensuring the child’s wellbeing along the way.

The Devil Dogs will eventually catch up to them one day. She places the baby in a makeshift basket composed of logs and twigs, then guides the basket with the infant down the river to keep her safe.

The midwife is subsequently murdered by the Devil Dogs. Willow Ufgood and his family are the ones who stumble into the infant in Nelwyn.

Willow is a young farmer and a sorcerer-in-training. He is afraid that the baby may be a bad omen and he does not want to have anything to do with it; nevertheless, his family does not listen to him.

When they finally make it back to the house with the newborn, Willow’s wife, Kaiya, asks him to have a turn holding the infant.

Willow grins and appears to be coming around to the idea of the baby being one of his own offspring after holding the infant for a few minutes.

Willow (1998): More Details

The following day, Willow takes Mims and Ranon, his other two children, to a festival in the village of Nelwyn, where he is scheduled to perform magic tricks.

The celebration is brought to a halt when one of the Devil Dogs launches an assault on the town. The village warriors dispatch the dog in short order, but the incident has the entire community on edge.

When Willow sees that the dogs are after the infant, she informs Kaiya that they need to take the situation to the village council as soon as possible.

They overhear the local prefect, the pompous Mr. Burgelcutt, declaring that whomever is responsible for the attack will be severely punished when the Ufgoods arrive at the village council with the baby.

The Ufgoods are carrying the infant at the time. The Ufgoods are overcome with anxiety as they prepare to depart, but they are prevented from doing so by the High Aldwin, who is the wise old man of the village, a sorcerer, and Willow’s guide.

Willow brings the baby to the attention of the village council, where Burgelcutt makes the suggestion that the dogs should be given the infant.

The High Aldwin has a premonition that there is something extraordinary about the newborn, and he issues a command that the infant must be protected at all costs.

He recruits several of the most skilled fighters in the community, including Willow, his best friend Meegosh, the hesitant Burgelcutt, and others.

He gives them the infant and tells them to take it to the Daikini crossroads and give it to the first tall person they encounter who fits the description of a Daikini.
