Michael Elgin: The Wrestler Was Detained In Japan After Stealing Protein Powder

Recently, Michael Elgin was detained in Japan for stealing protein powder. Find out the whole truth.

Aaron Frobel is a Canadian wrestler and actor better known by his stage name, Michael Elgin. For his work with the New Japan Pro-Wrestling, he is well known.

Elgin and Masa Kitamiya recently competed in the GHC Tag Team Champions. His new incident, though, might alter the course of his entire career.

Elgin is a former NEVER Openweight Champion and professional wrestler. He has ties to some of the most prestigious wrestling organizations in the world.

However, after Michael Elgin was apprehended in Japan for stealing protein powder, things started to become strange.

Recently, Elgin traveled to Japan to attend a wrestling match. He was arrested on July 9, 2022, for allegedly swiping protein powder.

Everyone has found it startling as to why a well-known wrestler would act in such a manner. The claimed event was nonetheless reported by reliable sources, and his absence from the match on July 10 supported the reports.

Michael’s promotional team, Pro Wrestling NOAH, announced, “[Notice of wrestler absence & alteration of match card] Michael Elgin, who was slated to compete in the Shizuoka show on Sunday, July 10, will be absent following the event on the 9th,” in a statement following the incident.

After the event on July 9, Michael Elgin won’t be attending the Shizuoka event, which was set for that day (Sunday, July 10). Some of the matchups will be altered as a result.

Charges of Theft against Michael Elgin – Not the First Arrest

In Japan, Michael Elgin is being accused of stealing.

According to rumors, Elgin is currently being detained in a Japanese prison for his misdeeds. If proven guilty, he could receive a term of up to 5 years.

Otherwise, Michael might not be permitted to travel to Japan ever again. Matt Sydal, a wrestler, experienced this following his 2016 marijuana possession arrest.

Elgin has had legal issues in the past as well. Elgin was detained by the cops for disobeying a restraining order just one year ago. The case was purportedly started by his ex-fiance.

The wrestler later refuted all of the allegations, though. He claimed that his trip to the police station was just for a routine health checkup. In addition, he asserted that his criminal past prevented him from obtaining a Japanese visa.

Net worth of Michael Elgin: How wealthy is he?

Over the course of his career, Michael Elgin’s money increased by millions. His exact net worth is not known, though.

Elgin was a pioneering fighter. At the age of 14, he began training to be a wrestler, and at the age of 16, he made his professional debut.

Michael signed up with the Pure Wrestling Association in 2005. He participated in the Ultimate Championship Wrestling that same year. He began competing in the Mid-South Independent Wrestling Association in 2006.

Elgin made his Ring of Honor debut in 2007. He won the IWA Mid-South Strong Style title the following year.

Michael fought in many locations in the United States, Canada, and Mexico over the years. Eventually, after signing with Pro Wrestling NOAH in 2019, he extended his career outside of North America.

In May 2022, they had only recently joined forces for the GHC Tag Team Championship. However, following his arrest, NOAH disqualified Elgin from competing in any upcoming NOAH performances as well as the GHC Tag Team Championship.
