Chelsea’s Contract With Mason Mount and Reece James and Their Career
When Reece James and Armando Borja signed their hefty new contracts with Chelsea earlier this year, it was expected that Mason Mount wouldn’t be too far after them.
Together, James and Mount progressed through Chelsea’s ranks, made their team debuts in 2019 under Frank Lampard, and have remained two of the group’s most dependable players ever since.
Following the World Cup with England, Mount, who has played multiple positions under Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter, will need to rediscover his best form and position, according to a recent report by football. london.

Mason Mount’s Career at Chelsea
Mount was promoted to Chelsea’s senior team at the age of 18; he made his club debut for the under-18 team in 2014 at the age of 15, and by 2016, he had also regularly played for the under-21 team. In 30 games during the club’s successful 2016–17 U18 Premier League season, Mount scored 10 goals. By 2017, he has also won the UEFA Youth League, two FA Youth Cups, and Chelsea Academy Player of the Year.
Loans to Vitesse and Derby County for 2017–18
On 24 July 2017, Mount was loaned to Dutch Eredivisie team Vitesse for the 2017–18 campaign.
He made his first-team debut on August 26 during Vitesse’s 2-1 loss to AZ at home as a 77th-minute replacement.
He made his debut the following month at Swift, a fifth-tier team Vitesse lost to in the KNVB Cup first round. He played the entire 90 minutes of the 0-0 draw, which Swift won in a penalty shootout.
On October 1st, during a 1-1 home tie with Utrecht, he scored his first goal for Vitesse.
Mount later won Vitesse Player of the Year and was named to the Eredivisie Team of the Year.

On July 17, 2018, Mount signed a loan deal with Championship team Derby County for the entire year.
On August 3, 2018, he made his debut for Derby and scored an equalizer in the 60th minute of a 2-1 away win over Reading.
Mount missed two months of action because to a hamstring injury he sustained against Accrington Stanley in an FA Cup match.

Champions League triumph in 2020–21

On April 20, 2022, Mount made his 100th Premier League appearance. He marked the occasion with an assist, but the game against Arsenal ended in a 2-4 home loss.
Mount became just the fifth Chelsea player (and the youngest) to reach that milestone in a season on May 11 when he scored his 11th Premier League goal of the season and assisted Christian Pulisic to make it 2-0 against Leeds United. However, in the subsequent match against Liverpool in the FA Cup Final, Mount and César Azpilicueta would miss penalties in a shootout, and the Reds would win 6-5 on penalties on May 14. James’s 2017 Chelsea performance
James started working out with Chelsea when he was six years old, but at the age of seven, he spent a brief time with West London rivals Fulham.
In March 2017, he made his professional debut with Chelsea.
He was named Academy Player of the Season in 2017–18 after leading the under-18s to the FA Youth Cup victory.
In June 2018, he agreed to a brand-new, four-year contract with the team.
James signed a loan deal with Championship team Wigan Athletic in June 2018 for the upcoming campaign.
On August 4, he made his first-team debut, starting in Wigan’s opening match of the year and guiding his team to a 3-2 victory over Sheffield Wednesday at home.
On November 4, he scored his first goal for Wigan. It came off a free kick in the sixth minute of a 2-1 loss to Leeds United at home.

First-Team Success and Winning the UEFA Champions League in 2019–2021
After recovering from an injury, James made his Chelsea debut on September 25. In the 2019–20 EFL Cup third round victory over Grimsby Town, he not only scored his first goal but also provided two assists. James’ fourth goal in Chelsea’s 4-4 comeback draw with Ajax on November 5 made him the club’s youngest-ever UEFA Champions League goal scorer.
