Kaleb Charters and Stephen Lindsay: Where Are They At Present?

Tushar Atre, a well-known tech and cannabis entrepreneur, was taken from his home on the California coast in 2019. He was never seen or heard from again. CBS’s “48 Hours: Who Shot the Tech Exec?” looked into the fact that he was found dead near his own cannabis manufacturing plant in the Santa Cruz Mountains just a few short hours after the show aired. Four people have now been charged with the crime, and reports say that Tushar knew at least two of them, Kaleb Charters and Stephen Lindsay. Let’s find out more about them, shall we?

Kaleb Charters and Stephen Lindsay: Who Are They?

Tushar Atre hired Kaleb Charters and Stephen Lindsay to work for him at one of his cannabis plants for less than 14 days in August 2019, two months before the incident. However, what’s important is that there was a lot of animosity between the two groups during this short period, and most of it had nothing to do with the hard work they did. The two members of the U.S. Army Reserve who got into a fight over lost keys and public push-ups are thought to have been trying to get back at each other.

Investigators talked to both Kaleb and Stephen in December, but they said their dispute with Tushar was over when he paid them, even if it was only partially. They never came back to Santa Cruz after leaving work again. However, in May 2020, along with a few other people, the young men were arrested and charged because of surveillance footage and cell phone data that linked them to the case. That’s when all four of them agreed with the police that the robbery went wrong, and the two suspects even asked why it took so long to find them.

We planned to visit an empty house that people thought had a lot of money and take the money. Things quickly got out of hand, a defence lawyer once said. Kaleb, on the other hand, is said to have dropped off the other people at Tushar’s house on purpose before going to the cannabis plant to wait for them to arrive. There’s a good chance that even though Kaleb wasn’t there, he was involved in the offence right from the start. There’s no direct evidence that connects Stephen to the case, but he was supposedly there. The only thing that connects him to the case is what other people say.

Kaleb Charters and Stephen Lindsay: Where Are They Right Now?

Seven people were indicted, including Kaleb’s brother, Kurtis Charters; a friend of Kaleb’s, Joshua James Camps; and Kaleb’s friend, Joshua James Camps. First-degree murder, first-degree robbery, second-degree robbery, carjacking, kidnapping, kidnapping to commit another crime, and first-degree burglary are all examples of these crimes. There’s also a special thing about these charges of robbery and abduction while someone is killing someone else. If they are found guilty, they could spend the rest of their lives in a California State Correctional Facility, with or without the chance of parole.

There was a judge who didn’t let Kaleb and Stephen out on bail back in 2020. They have also pleaded not guilty to the charges against them, which means they are still in jail while they wait for their trial to start. After being extradited from his home in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, he and the 24-year-old Burbank native are now being held at the Santa Cruz County Jail on Water Street.
