“La Brea,” on NBC, is a complicated show about time travel that asks more questions than it answers.
It creates a complicated web of mysteries that draws the viewer deeper into its depths. Everyone in the story seems to have no idea what’s going on around them. They are stuck in a time they don’t belong to, so all they care about is making sure they and their loved ones live. Except for Rebecca Aldridge, everyone is driven by these things.
Aldridge seems to be on her own mission, and she’s willing to do whatever it takes to complete it. She seems to be the only person who knows everything about sinkholes and going back in time. People think that, even though she keeps secrets, she will eventually tell all the secrets. But the sudden way she died in the fourth episode of Season 2 makes people wonder if her story is over. Is she no longer alive?
Time travel makes the idea of death more complicated than it is in most other genres, and for a character as mysterious as Rebecca Aldridge, things can’t just end like that. Even though she has been around for a while, we still don’t know much about her. We only know that she is a scientist, that she is somehow to blame for the sinkholes, that she knows how everything will turn out, and that she doesn’t tell anyone more than they need to know.
When she sees Gavin again in 10,000 BC at the end of the second season, she tells him that he will be an important part of what happens next. She begs him to come with her to Lazarus, where they can find a way for Josh and Riley to come back from 1988. But because of how dangerous it is in the clearing, she has to put her plan on hold for a while and help Gavin save his family. This is where a wolf attacks her and hurts her very badly.
People think she might make it through this one too, since she has already survived one injury that could have killed her. This time, though, her wounds are too deep, and she can’t get better. She dies before she can tell all the secrets she had promised. We can be sure that Aldridge is dead because we saw it happen. But does that mean she won’t be in “La Brea” anymore? Just yet, we wouldn’t be so sure about it.

Ming-Zhu Hii left La Brea, right?
Even though Aldridge might be dead in 10,000 BC, it’s still likely that we’ll see her again. She is one of the few characters who knows what’s really going on, and her sudden death in the middle of everything, just as the plot was getting interesting, doesn’t sit well with us. Also, since she is still alive in other timelines, we will definitely see her again. Though it’s not clear how or when that will happen.
The fact that actress Ming-Zhu Hii’s departure from the show hasn’t been officially announced is also proof that “La Brea” isn’t done with Aldridge yet. Most of the time, actors use social media to say goodbye to their roles and the show. Hii hasn’t made any of these kinds of posts, which shows that her character’s death doesn’t mean she won’t come back to play the role again. The actress, who has been in shows like “Halifax: Retribution” and “Sisters,” doesn’t have any big projects going on right now that might interfere with “La Brea.” This means that she can keep playing Aldridge.
Her character is also one of the most interesting on the show, so it seems unlikely that the people who make “La Brea” would just kill her off for shock value without explaining anything about her past or why she does what she does. The fact that there are still so many questions about her is reason enough for “La Brea” to bring Aldridge back in some way and answer the audience’s questions about her before saying goodbye to her for good.

She was also the key that Sam and Gavin needed to get into the building, which has been their goal for a long time. Gavin made it clear that, with Sam’s help, he was going to “go to the cave, steal that shipment, and deliver it.” All of these things would help them get their children back.

Rebecca Aldridge first appeared in “The New Arrival,” which was the fourth episode of Season 1. When Izzy and Gavin go to Aldridge’s farm to look for Dr. Nathan, they run into her. Fans soon find out that she and Dr. Nathan were both on a DHS team that went to the Mojave to look into a sinkhole years ago. She has spent the years since then building a jet that can go back in time through a sinkhole so she can go back.
From there, it’s clear that Aldridge is more than just a DHS worker. As the season goes on, she keeps figuring out more and more secrets about the people who live in La Brea, showing that she knows a lot more about them than they do. She’s full of surprises, like when she told Gavin, “Go back to the beginning…November 16, 1988,” right before she jumped out of an airplane, or when she told Eve that Isiah is really a young Gavin.
In the end, when Aldridge finally opened up to Scott, viewers found out a little more about her. She and Silas, who is also mysterious, know each other because they worked together as scientists and made the sinkholes. We still don’t know who Aldridge is, but this was another piece of information that helped us get closer to the truth.

The “sky people” don’t have much going for them, and on La Brea Season 2 Episode 4, nature and the elements started to work against them. When Gavin saw Aldridge again, everyone thought they were finally going to get some answers and clarity, but it was quickly taken away.
First, the thick fog made it happen. Then Paara’s people went bad and attacked the people in the clearing for stealing their food. Finally, the wolves decided to eat Aldridge.
The episode was full of action, and survival was the main focus, but at the end, there wasn’t much to think about until next week.
Aldridge was their only chance of getting back home and reuniting with Josh and Riley. When she died, so did a glimmer of that hope. Why didn’t anyone sit with her until her last breath and ask her questions? She knew a lot more than she let on. Other than Silas, she was the only one who knew anything about this place, but when she died, all of that information went with her.
And what a waste of a good character who still had so much to do and finish. It almost seems like the writers took the easy way out by killing off Aldridge.
Aldridge did tell Gavin’s mother Caroline that she was a scientist in 1988 and was coming back to “make things right” in her last moments. How come?
Gavin told Sam that they would find the building where Aldridge said there was a time machine so they could get their kids back, but that’s easier said than done. Her plan is also very dangerous because they need to steal a shipment of the black rock that powers the time machine so they can get into the building.
