Actor, voice actor, and host Faruq Tauheed was the subject of our conversation. Faruq and I talked about his varied professional background, his ongoing initiatives, and other topics.
Right off the bat, throughout our talk, we learned something interesting. Just recently had Faruq and his wife returned from a trip to Italy.
He made it home safely with his wife, and they had a lovely time there! How’s that for a conversation starter? My wife and I just got back from a trip to Italy.
We were able to beat the lockdown and the virus. While the lockdown began in Milan, which is more north and west, we began in Venice.
We kind of escaped the infection. After visiting Florence, we traveled to Rome. We learned that Italy had been shut down when we returned home.
We still would be in Italy right now if our flight had left twelve hours later. Thankfully, aside from the final day when they closed the Colosseum, not much of our holiday was ruined.
However, we had a great vacation and are again safe and sound at home. It was fortunate that your wonderful vacation fell right before quarantine. Jealous. LOL.

Faruq Tauheed: Bio
American actor, host, and voice artist Faruq Tauheed Jenkins (born August 7, 1979) has been active in television, radio, and video games since 1998.
He currently serves as Discovery’s BattleBots’ ring announcer. He became involved with the program when BattleBots made its way back to ABC in 2015.
In addition to energizing the crowd, Faruq served as the ring announcer for the BattleBox, introducing teams and robots before matches.
He has continued to play this role ever since BattleBots made a comeback. He periodically leaves this job to work on other projects, most notably many Discovery Season 3 cold openings and a 2015 Pizza Hut commercial with a BattleBots theme that also included Team PlumbCrazy, Inertia Labs, and Mutant Robots.
Faruq also provided his voice for a number of upcoming BattleBots season promos, most notably the one for Discovery Season 6.
Faruq is a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan and a resident of Philadelphia. He has previously been given the creative license to make references to his preferred NFL team while working on BattleBots.
Notably, he attacked Tom Brady after the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII in 2017, the only year since 2015 that did not have a BattleBots season.
Faruq Tauheed: Career
We went back and talked about Faruq’s history. He is one of three sons and was born and reared in Philadelphia. He places the “blame” for “his performing this acting thing” on his mother.
Unsurprisingly, Faruq preferred playing basketball to acting or theater when he was younger. Mom, though, is the expert.
My mother enrolled me in the illustrious Freedom Theatre school for black children. To keep me off the streets was her goal.
She assured me that I could leave the program early if I didn’t enjoy it. After my first semester was through, I informed my mother that I didn’t enjoy it and didn’t want to continue.
That season, I was prepared to play basketball for two local parks. I’ve been acting ever since she applied for a scholarship to the program behind my back.
Yes, I was disappointed at the time, but consider the outcome. I attended high school to pursue theater and dancing. I then enrolled in college for it. Mom actually does know best in this case, as it proved out. I’m fortunate.
In his final year of college, Faruq attended the British American Drama Academy for the fall semester (BADA).
He was a participant in a program that picked more than 60 theater majors from across America to study and train in London. Faruq relocated to Los Angeles immediately after graduation.
And when we say immediately after, we really do mean immediately. “I completed my college graduation at 9:30 night, and by 4:30 am, I was at LaGuardia Airport traveling to Los Angeles.
My first job was in retail, but I soon realized I needed a night job to support my acting career during the day. I then trained to be a server and a bartender. Actually, I worked as a bartender for ten years.
We questioned Faruq about his “big break,” or the event that freed him from his bartending duties. He admitted to us that he was still pursuing his big break.
I doubt that my big break has come yet. But there was a point when I felt certain that I was headed in the correct direction. And the time did arrive when I could leave my job and work only in entertainment.
There is no denying that Faruq, an actor, voice actor, and host, is working diligently. He told some amazing tales about how his profession has developed.
“True or false, I once thought to myself that I wish I could be paid to play video games. I swear to you that a week later, I received an email asking, “Do you enjoy playing video games? Are you a fan of football? Would you like to host? I reasoned that since I am an actress, I can pretend to want to host.
Together with a friend, I built up an appearance that I was holding an open mic, and I turned in the tape.
Although I wasn’t hired that season, I was called back the following season and have been hosting ever since. from a message. “I also served as the host of The Kids Game Show on Universal Kids. That was simply incredible.
His voice acting career took a slightly more natural course of development. Voice over is a result of my serving customers. I would frequently get compliments on my voice from others.
Do you perform voiceovers? After taking a voice-over class, I started performing voice-over work. I have experience with commercials, animation, and video game series.
I’ve done voice work for Cartoon Network, Hotwire, Animation Teen, and the Hot Wheels movies. I adore hosting and voice-over work.
I did not come here to perform as a voice actor or a host. When I moved to Los Angeles, I had no experience in either.
This, in my opinion, is a crucial element for those who come to this country in order to work in the entertainment industry.
Never be scared to pick up a new skill, learn something new, or achieve a new certification. Although I moved here to work in film and television, hosting and voice acting are what I do best.

Faruq Tauheed: Wife
Leslie Miller, the wife of Faruq Tauheed, is an actress best known for her role in New Girl. In 2005, Leslie began working in the film industry.
Miller is a well-known voice actress who has portrayed Captain Brunson, Lou, and Tia Dalma. Even her roles in Key and Peele, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and New Girl are well-known.
In 2005, the actress made her debut in the film industry as Brenda Hunter on the television program Guilty or Innocent. After that, she had an appearance as Serena Parker and Jhonny as Glenda Roberts in the 2007 television series Diagnosis X.
Fans complimented Miller for her portrayal of Tia in the TV show New Girl in 2017. She portrayed Denise in Key and Peele two years later.
Major Crimes, Shameless, Stitchers, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, and other shows featured Miller in small roles.

Tia Dalma in Sea of Thieves, The Local Pedestrian Population in the 2018 video game, and World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth all featured Miller’s voice.
The actress most recently appeared in Saints Row, Good Trouble, Mind Thief, Horizon Forbidden West, and The L Word: Generation Q. Peace and Kanas St. are her forthcoming performances.
Faruq Tauheed: Family Life
Miller and Tauheed exchanged vows on November 2, 2013. For nine years, the pair has been married.
After several years of dating and seven years after the birth of their son, the couple decided to be married. Even the actress admitted that eight years ago, it was the best choice she had ever made.
Together, the couple spends their time away. They had visited Pisa, Italy; Burano Island; and Venice, Italy. In 2020, the couple spent a holiday in Rome and went to the Pantheon, the Colosseum, Rome, Italy, the Vatican City, and other places.
In January, they moved into their new home. Additionally, the couple hosted their first Thanksgiving at their new home for their family and friends in 2022.
Miller felt fortunate to have a husband who would give her the long-awaited vacation to Paris as a surprise.
Faruq Tauheed: Children
His son is 16 years old.
The sole child of Tauheed and Leslie is named Sylas. He is currently 16 years old and was born on December 3, 2006.
Miller claimed that her child switched from being the shortest to the tallest. He is shorter and comes around his shoulder, the host himself stated.
This December, Miller lavished her adorable son with toys. He brings me such great delight, the actress remarked.
She considered having a spouse and a son to be double blessings. She is eager to see what God has in store for children in the future, though.
The family danced to Michael Jackson’s Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ as a sign of how well the couple and their son get along. Like his father, Sylas appeared to be an admirer of the Philadelphia Eagles.
