David has been a part of SOILWORK for a significant amount of time and also played in THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA alongside Bjorn Strid, the singer for SOILWORK.
In a second statement, THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA wished the “kind doctor” a restful evening. We share the hope that you have at long last discovered peace. We are going to miss you very much. You were a brilliant musician in addition to being one of a kind. Alcoholism and mental illness are to blame for you no longer being here with us. It’s causing me a lot of pain. On this sad day, our thoughts and prayers are with David Andersson’s family. Our condolences go out to you. The legacy of his musical legacy will endure forever. I’d like to express my gratitude for all of the amazing experiences we’ve shared together. We’ll catch up with you on the other side.”
In 2012, Andersson became officially affiliated with SOILWORK, taking over for Peter Wichers in the band. Before Andersson became a full-time member of SOILWORK, he had been on the road with the band since 2006, though not continuously.
Andersson discussed the development of his musical style in an interview with Hardrock Haven in the year 2020. He said, “When I was 20, I tried to have a career as a rock musician and a songwriter. I made a few records with a band on an American label, but it just didn’t go anywhere and we split up.” After that, I pursued a career in medicine instead of music for a while; but, in 2006, I was given the opportunity to begin playing with SOILWORK, and that was the moment when my musical career kind of went back on track.
I had no idea that would happen because I was only in my early 20s when I decided to stop pursuing a career as a rock star, so everything has come as a complete and total surprise to me. I have been operating at this level for close to 14 years now, and I believe… I hope… that it is just going better from here on out. “I’m still astonished and also really glad that I got the chance to do this finally, because that’s what I’ve always wanted to do ever since I was a kid,” she said with a laugh. “It’s what I’ve always wanted to do.”
In an interview with Metal Insider from the previous year, Andersson discussed how the coronavirus epidemic has had a direct impact on his own life. He answered, “I’m a doctor myself; I practice medicine; that’s what I do during the day.” Since I’ve been working with COVID patients and because I have wonderful friends who are performing COVID research that is fairly highly recognized, you could say that I’m quite well-read when it comes to the entire pandemic thing.

It’s a shame that when everyone has gone out on social media and thought that they know the truth, there are people who have devoted their entire lives to virology and epidemiology who are still a bit unsure on what’s right. He continued by saying, “If you have a bunch of doctors and professors and scientists saying that you should be careful, then you have some random dude saying, ‘I heard that it’s safe and we can just do whatever the fuck we want and drink beers and go to a rock festival,’ of course, if you’ve lived with this pandemic for years of course you want to believe that dude, who says it’s safe and it’s all fake news and everyone’s lying If you are unwilling to consider the evidence presented, I can fully comprehend the reasoning behind your decision to pursue that alternative. Unfortunately, such is the nature of human beings.
On August 19, SOILWORK returned with their first album recorded in a studio in three years with the release of “Overgivenheten” on Nuclear Blast Records.
