Brendan Langley, a former wide receiver for the Denver Broncos, was arrested on Thursday after he got into a fight with an airport worker. The fight was caught on video.
Langley, who was picked in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, got into a fight with a United Airlines worker at the Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey. Both men took swings at each other, but it wasn’t clear from the video who started the fight.
TMZ heard from police that Langley had been arrested and was being charged with simple assault. The United Airlines worker hasn’t been taken into custody yet. You can watch a video of the fight below, but you should know that it has swearing in it.
As you can see, the United Airlines worker was left with a big cut above the eye that was bleeding a lot. He kept talking to Langley even after getting hit in the face several times and being knocked down. Langley says that the other man was the one who started the fight.
The Daily Mail says that the fight started when Langley was accused of putting his luggage on a wheel chair instead of paying $5 for a luggage cart.
Langley played for the Broncos for two years, from 2017 to 2018. The former All-American at Lamar University played in 16 games, mostly on special teams. Before the 2019 season, he was cut. Langley joined the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL last year. As of Monday afternoon, he was still on the team’s list.

Brendan Langley Was Arrested
Langley’s NFL career with the Denver Broncos was not what he had hoped for. He was drafted with the hope that his college skills would make him an important part of the special teams, but that never happened. He last played for the Broncos in 2018.
Even though the Denver Broncos had nothing to do with the incident, Langley was never what they expected after the draft. Langley had to go to Canada to play because his time with the team was a bust.
Langley was supposed to go back to the NFL in 2020, but his contract with the Seattle Seahawks practice squad fell through. He also “played” in the XFL, but the season was canceled because of Covid. Langley will play for the Calgary Stampeders in the CFL starting in 2022.

Langley was arrested and charged with simple assault, which is a misdemeanor. The maximum sentence for this type of assault is 5 years, but since he was arrested and charged with simple assault, his sentence is likely to be less than a year. Langley is also likely to get out of jail quickly because of the video evidence.
