Not only did Chalotra not have any expectations for the character, but she also did not know very much about them at this point, which looked to work to her advantage.
She explained it to Vogue by saying, “I got into this blindly.” “And I think it helped me, because had I known that Yennefer was such an iconic character and had such a large fan base, I would’ve overthought every move I made in that audition room,” she said.
“But because I didn’t know that, I was able to focus on the task at hand and do my best work.” In addition to this, she confessed, “Every time I auditioned [three times], I felt hungrier for the role.”
Now that Chalotra is aware of how much she has in common with Yennefer, she has revealed to Diana Méndez that the aspect of Yennefer’s personality that she identifies with the most is “her fearlessness.”
