Amber Heard shuts Johnny Depp’s TikTok Debut

Amber Heard’s spokeswoman expressed the actress’ thoughts on Johnny Depp’s plan to “move forward” after winning his defamation lawsuit against her.

Amber Heard isn’t impressed with Johnny Depp’s internet activity. The Pirates of the Caribbean star created a TikTok account after winning his slander lawsuit against his ex-wife.
In his first post on June 7, he wrote, “To all of my most cherished, loyal, and unflinching supporters.” “We’ve been everywhere together and witnessed everything. We’ve both been along the same path. Because you cared, we worked together to do the right thing. And now we’ll all work together to move forward.”
Heard’s spokeswoman has already spoken out about Depp’s wish to “move forward” after the trial.
“Women’s rights are heading backward while Johnny Depp says he’s moving ahead,” a spokesperson for Heard told E! News. “The message of the ruling to domestic abuse victims is…don’t be scared to stand up and speak out.”

After filing a $50 million defamation case against her for an op-ed she penned for The Washington Post in 2018, a Virginia jury found her responsible of defamation on June 1. Heard characterized herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse” in the op-ed.
Depp’s lawyers contended in previous court records that the personal essay was a “elaborate fraud,” despite the fact that the Aquaman actress never mentioned Depp’s name in the article.
The jury awarded Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages after 13 hours of deliberation, which the court reduced to $350,000 according to the state’s limit. Heard was given $2 million in compensatory damages after countersuing Depp for $100 million.
Depp’s first TikTok, which he uploaded six days after the jury’s decision, touched on his thoughts following the trial, particularly his gratitude for fans.
“You are, as always, my employers, and once again there are no words to express my gratitude other than thank you,” he said. “So, thank you very much. JD, you have my love and respect.”

On June 1, Depp expressed his displeasure with the court’s decision on his Facebook and Instagram profiles.
In part, he stated, “False, severe, and criminal allegations were made against me in the media, resulting in a never-ending bombardment of nasty information, despite the fact that no charges were ever filed against me. It had already traveled twice around the world in a nanosecond and had a profound impact on my life and career.”

Depp later clarified that he “brought this litigation to uncover the truth, regardless of the outcome.”
Heard’s lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft, claimed on Today on June 2 that her client was “demonized” during the high-profile trial, adding that “a number of the evidentiary difficulties, there was so much material that did not come in.”
In terms of Heard’s next steps, Bredehoft stated that Heard “definitely” intends to appeal the June 1 ruling.
Depp’s representative has not responded to E! News’ request for comment.
