Pastor E. A. Adeboye, who is the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, spoke at the “Perfect Jubilee” Evening Session of Day 5 of the 70th Convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
He looked at 2 Kings 4:8–37, which tells the story of Elisha and the Shunamite woman, and found that Marital Jubilee is a great time.
It tells us about the Shunamite woman. She wasn’t looking for a child; she had just seen a person of God passing by and wanted to bless the servant of God. When the person of God kept coming back, she decided she would do more than feed him; she would build a house for him. Then, on the person of God’s command, she got pregnant. So, this woman got pregnant, had a baby, and was happy about it. The devil then came right in and killed the boy.
He then prayed for people who had been kind to their pastors and said, “Let me stand as a guide of God and say to all of you who have been kind to your pastors, whatever money can’t buy, get it in Jesus’ name. Daddy told me to tell anyone who was listening that the devil’s plans to steal from your family are ruined.
Even though the devil came to this place and stole the boy, the woman still got him back. She had it, lost it, and then got it back. That’s what it means to be restored. In the name of Jesus, you can get everything back that you’ve lost.
