English actress Aimee Kelly won a lot of praise for her portrayal of Kayla in the 2011 British thriller Sket. She had appeared as Warrior Melka in an episode of the kids’ adventure game show Raven five years prior to getting the part.

When she was cast as a series regular in Wolfblood, a British-German fantasy teen drama, she also received critical acclaim and increased fame.

Aimee Kelly: Bio

British actress Aimee Kelly (born on 8 July 1993 in Fenham, Newcastle). She is most known for portraying Maddy Smith in Wolfblood, a children’s drama that aired on CBBC for two seasons.

She made her acting debut at the age of 16 in the lead role of the feature film Sket. As part of the 55th BFI London Film Festival, the movie had its world debut.

Aimee received a nomination for Best British Newcomer at the LFF Awards for her performance.

Aimee In 2006, Kelly made an appearance on Raven, a children’s game program, using the warrior alias Melka. She came in third place and advanced to the fifth day of the second week.

She gave an audition for the part of Minnie McGuinness in E4’s Skins when she was 16 years old, but Freya Mavor was chosen instead.

After her audition, Kelly was approached by casting director Jane Ripley regarding Sket after recalling she had been offered the role of Kayla Richards, making this her debut movie.

The protagonist of the British production, Kayla, joined a gang along the road and set out to hunt the person responsible for her sister’s murder.

For her part, she was a contender for the British Film Institute’s Best British Newcomer award. Her performance in the CBBC drama Wolfblood earned her a nomination for “best performer” at the British Academy Children’s Awards in 2013. Bobby Lockwood, a fellow co-star, ultimately prevailed (who plays Rhydian Morris in the show).

Since then, Kelly has also appeared in a Call the Midwife episode. Wolfblood creator Debbie Moon announced on her blog “Never Get off The Bus” that she opted to leave Wolfblood after the conclusion of Series 2 in order to go back to school.

While Kelly claimed on Twitter that she was unable to pursue Maddy because of her university obligations that prevented her from doing so: “On the contrary of the rumors I’d like to mention that finishing my year at university was the reason for not returning to WB season 3.”

Later on, she added: “Making the choice wasn’t simple, but occasionally education comes first! I want to express my gratitude to everyone who helped me along the journey.”

Kelly attended Sacred Heart Catholic High School, where her English instructor convinced her to continue in performing arts at the age of 11, before pursuing a career in acting.

Additionally, she took drama classes at the Sage Academy of Performing Arts (along with her twin, Katie).

She then applied to attend Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, where Daisy Ridley also studied, and left her mother and two sisters behind in Newcastle to live on campus in Hertfordshire for two years as a boarder.

Kelly worked as a shop clerk and a bar waitress before landing the role of Kayla in Sket. She recently relocated to LA.

Aimee and Alex planned to get married in 2022 in London after dating for more than ten years.

While Aimee works as an actor in front of the camera, her husband is a freelance photographer with a studio in London. The Sket star enjoys a successful profession and a happy marriage. The couple also has a youngster together.

Originally encounter Aimee and Alex first met at Leeds University more than ten years ago. The couple started dating right away because they felt an instant connection.

On their tenth anniversary, they also intended to get engaged, but Covid prevented that from happening.

Due to Covid, their engagement at The Fosh Hotel in the Cotswolds was postponed by a few months. The Fish is wonderfully romantic and ideal for such important events, so their special day was worth the wait.

Alex was initially featured in an Aimee post in 2013.
