Zuccarello, who was born on September 1, 1987, grew up in a large family in the Oslo suburbs of Lren and began playing hockey at the age of five. He relocated to Vlerenga after a few years at Hasle-Lren, where he stayed until the conclusion of lower secondary school.
Because of his mother, Zuccarello is half-Italian. Zuccarello’s younger brother, Fabian, plays in the Norwegian First Division, and Zuccarello’s stepbrother, Robin Dahlstrm, played in both Sweden and Norway until retiring in 2021.

Zuccarello, Mats André Mats Zuccarello, also known as Aasen, is a professional ice hockey winger from Norway who currently plays for the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League.
He also played with the New York Rangers and the Dallas Stars, gaining the nickname “Lizard” in the process. Prior to joining the NHL, Zuccarello was a member of the Swedish Elite League’s Modo Hockey squad.
In 2010, he received the Guldhjälmen (Golden Helmet) award, which is given annually to the Swedish Hockey League’s most valuable player. He is regarded as one of Norway’s most accomplished NHL players.
Due to a lower-body ailment, Mats Zuccarello was unable to play in the regular-season finale against the Colorado Avalanche at Xcel Energy Center on Friday night. He hasn’t played since the Wild defeated the Seattle Kraken 6-3 on April 22.
Zuccarello, on the other hand, appears to be ready to play in the NHL playoffs this week. The morning before the game against the St. Louis Blues, he was observed training.
Zuccarello’s fans and coach Dean Evason are both enthusiastic about his return in Game 1. Zuccarello’s injury appears to have recovered to the point where he may return to competitive action.
Zuccarello, on the other hand, was the best man at his friend’s wedding.
