A budding football star from Africa was named Wisdom Naya. He was a member of the Taita Taveta County, Wundanyi-based Sofapaka Football Club.
The teenage midfielder passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022, as his football team reported.

Wisdom Naya passed away at age 19. Although his professional career had only begun, he had a distinct perspective on faith.
The football team from Naya, Sofapaka, announced on Twitter: “We mourn the passing of Wisdom Naya, a former midfielder for us. We send our heartfelt condolences to Naya’s family and friends.”
In Trans Nzoia and across Kenya, the sports community expresses its sorrow at the young man’s passing.
On Twitter, one user wrote: “My sincere condolences go out to the family of Wisdom Naya, a great role model and young athlete that our County has lost. May God grant the tranquilly they seek during this trying time to the family, friends, and the people of Transnzoia. RIP.”
One more says: “It’s hard to imagine you’re gone. Go well, my smaller brother; Wisdom, you put up a respectable fight. It was an enormous privilege to share a changing room with you, King. Adieu, Naya.”
Cause of Death: How Did Wisdom Naya Pass Away?
After a protracted cancer struggle, Wisdom Naya passed away. In January 2022, the football player had to have his left leg medically amputated.
Sarcoma, a rare malignant cancer that develops in the bones, joints, and connective tissue, was discovered in Naya. With the growth of tumours, the condition gets worse over time.

After getting hurt during the workout, Naya’s condition deteriorated. On his left knee, a severe swelling had appeared.
In Eldoret, the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital received the player as a patient. He underwent a number of medical treatments, including knee surgery. However, the medical professional advised amputating his limb.
Naya just had to forgo the sixth session of his operation since he saw the swelling was getting worse every day.

Wisdom Naya and his family are natives of Kenya’s Trans Nzoia County. Dinah Cherop is his mother, while Edward Onyango is his father.
After the passing of this son, Onyango said: “He had made significant progress, and I was anticipating he would stand up again. We are extremely disappointed by his passing. Give him a peaceful rest.”
Naya’s low-income family requested assistance from several medical professionals. They went to the Kenyatta National Hospital at first, and were afterwards sent to the Spanish Hospital in India by that facility. Last December, the family made a trip to India where they received months of medical care. Additionally, they received Sh500,000 for medical assistance. Naya, however, was too weak to survive.
