The 54-year-old landlord then viciously smothered the 61-year-old inhabitant of Joplin, Missouri to death.
The body of Anita Dunn was discovered by the investigation team in a nearby abandoned mine shaft, and the investigators immediately suspected the tenant because the two had a brief affair prior to the occurrence. Todd Greathouse was apprehended in 2016 for murdering Anita Dunn and dumping her body in an abandoned mine shaft. Todd Greathouse owned an apartment where Anita Dunn lived, and the two had a brief romance until Anita Dunn threatened to tell his wife about the extramarital affair.
