At a news conference at 3:40 p.m. CST, police said that a stabbing spree in 13 different places left 10 people dead and at least 15 people in the hospital.
The commanding officer of the Saskatchewan RCMP, Rhonda Blackmore, told reporters that there may be more injured people who drove themselves to different hospitals.
“We are actively looking for [them] right now, putting all of our resources into it.”
Blackmore said that police sent out an emergency alert to nearby provinces after hearing that Damien Sanderson, 31, and Myles Sanderson, 30, were seen on Regina’s Arcola Avenue at 11:20 a.m. CST. Around 6 a.m. CST on Sunday, three STARS air ambulances were sent to James Smith Cree Nation.

Each of the three STARS ambulances took one person to the Saskatoon Royal University Hospital. Two people were taken to the hospital from the scene, and one was taken from the hospital in Melfort, where they had been taken by ground ambulance.
Hospitals need workers
Anne Lindemann, a spokesperson for the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA), said in an email that the SHA activated its emergency response plan to deal with the “influx of casualties,” which included calling for more staff.
