Love is Blind Journey by Andrew Liu

When we first saw Andrew on our screens, it was clear that he was not only a calm, collected person who seemed to have no fears, but also someone who was ambitious, adventurous, and passionate. That’s why Nancy Rodriguez, a successful speech pathologist and real estate investor, felt “intellectually” and “financially” connected to him from the start and even agreed that his experiences could help her grow. At first, he was honest and said all the right things, like how he said he had chased money before deciding to follow his true passions, but it wasn’t enough.

Andrew said in a confessional, “I do like some of the better things in life.” “But my priorities are changing. The things I care about most now are how I spend my time and the things I want to do before I die.” But, even though he talked to Nancy about transcendental sex and sexual kung fu, which seemed strange to us, she didn’t want to be with him because she couldn’t see herself being with him for the rest of her life. He even got down on one knee without ever seeing her, but she couldn’t go through with it because she liked Bartise Bowden more.

“I am impressed by a man who can own his confidence in what he has done,” Nancy said about Andrew after the show was over. “But I’ve been honest about this whole thing, and men have a certain image they want to project. So a lot of lying is going on.” And her gut feeling was right, since Andrew used eyedrops not once, but twice, before he said he was heartbroken by the rejection during his confessional. He said, “I never thought I could care for someone so much that they would make me cry.”

What’s up with Andrew Liu?

From what we can tell, Andrew is currently living in Austin, Texas, where he seems to be following his passions in a way that makes him happy and comfortable. So, he is proud to be a wildlife photographer, an urban explorer, and the Director of Operations at a trucking company called aifleet. On his website and other online platforms, he prefers to go by the name “a curious ape.” It looks like the 2014 graduate of the Cockrell School of Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin is still single, but his focus on his job seems to keep him happy.

Andrew wasn’t joking when he said he had worked as a software developer, an analyst, and a management consultant before going after his real dreams. Around the end of the 2010s, he was living in New York when he discovered his love for both adventure and photography. This led him to different places and cultures all over the world. So, the man from Shanghai, China, has been everywhere. He has been to Bali, Singapore, Istanbul, Kenya, and South Africa.

Format

All of the men and women in the show are from the same major city and are looking for love. Men and women date each other for 10 days in “pods” that were made for the purpose. They can talk to each other through a speaker, but they can’t see each other. At first, they go on “speed dates,” but later, they can choose to go on longer dates. The people on the date can ask each other to marry whenever they are ready. After a marriage proposal is accepted, the two people meet in person for the first time. The couples then go to a resort for a retreat for couples. During this trip, they get to know each other better and have their first chance to touch each other physically. They also get to know the other couples in the experiment.

The engaged couples move into the same apartment complex in the city where they live after the retreat. While they are at the apartments, they meet their partners’ friends and families and learn more about their partners’ lives. They talk about money, hobbies, personal habits, and where their partners plan to live as their permanent home. They also make plans for weddings that will happen in four weeks. During this time of wedding planning, the group of women go shopping for wedding dresses together, and the group of men go shopping for suits together, with a few friends or family members joining them. They also decide things like how their wedding cake will look and taste. Each person decides whether or not to say “I do” at the altar.

A few weeks ago, when everyone was just trying to get through this cursed month, Netflix dropped Love Is Blind without much of a fuss. Since then, life really hasn’t been the same. This very strange reality show is hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, and it follows 30 men and women who are looking for love and want to get closer to someone. Like, the kind of bond where you don’t even know what the other person looks like. They get to know each other through speed dating while they hang out in “pods” for 10 days. They don’t meet in person until after a proposal. How everyday! How could things go wrong?

Here’s how Netflix officially describes the idea: “Singles who want to be loved for who they are instead of how they look have signed up for a less traditional way to date where they hope to meet the person they want to spend the rest of their lives with…without ever having seen them. With nothing to distract them from the outside world, the singles talk to a steady stream of potential love interests. When they find someone they really like, they propose and then see their future spouse for the first time. Now that they are engaged and back in the real world, the couples will quickly find out if they can turn their emotional connection into a physical one before the wedding.

Obviously, this is the best reality show since The Masked Singer. If you want to learn more about the contestants, click through to see their Instagrams, jobs, and the best parts of their very serious Netflix bios.

Cameron is a nerdy scientist who says what drives him is figuring out the “structure of the mind.” He is also very sensitive, and his last relationship lasted for five years. It’s totally normal to go on a blind date after a breakup. Not at all a warning sign.

Oh, and Cameron told Netflix that because of how he looks, most women think he’s a jock. Have you ever heard of being humble?

Amber is a bartender and a former tank mechanic in the military. She is done with traditional dating because she feels like an object. Which is something we can all understand. She is also tired of men making “assumptions about her based on how she looks.” The next guy she dates, she wants to make sure, is serious about wanting to get married and have a family.

Carlton is a social media and marketing manager, in case you can’t tell from this thirst trap. Dude wants to get rid of the “superficial part of dating,” so it’s no surprise that he joined the weirdest reality show ever.

Because modern dating can be so shallow, it seems like Carlton has trouble getting deep and wants to meet his future wife “sight unseen.” Sorry, I have to go, but I can’t hear the word “shallow” without starting to sing, so give me a minute.

So, Mark really wants to get married, even though he’s only been old enough to drink legally for about four years. But meeting women at bars and the gym isn’t working out because everyone wants to keep things casual. He seems to think that once someone hears about how passionate he is about helping others, they will realize he would make a great life partner.

We’re off to a good start because I’m definitely excited about this picture.

Jessica calls herself a “burned-out serial monogamist” who stays in relationships way too long, even if that person isn’t the one. Getting a partner has taken a back seat to her tech sales job, and her last relationship was based solely on looks. In other words, she wants something different.

Kenny, the guy on the beach who wears socks and sneakers, works as a lighting consultant. I have no idea what that means, except that it sounds like he “loves lamp.”

Kenny says in his Netflix bio that it’s too easy to get lost in social media and “sell yourself” on the idea that someone else’s life is better than yours. He thinks this way of thinking is bad for relationships. Fair.

Matt, who likes Taylor Swift, thinks his past relationships failed because he “put other people’s happiness before his own” and “wanted to be loved so much that he was blind to the fact that his significant others weren’t good matches for him.”

So, yeah, dude just wants a serious partner and may or may not be a Swiftie. Take it or leave it.
