Eric Knowles is a British TV host and an expert in antiques. His favorite things to collect are ceramics and glass.
In the early 1970s, he started his career in north England. It was when he joined Antiques Roadshow that he first caught the attention of the BBC.
When he joined the London auction house Bonhams in 1979, the host started the “Art Nouveau” and “Art Deco” divisions.

Update on his illness and health problem related to leukemia
Eric Knowles looks at how the NHS has changed over time by thinking about a painful event from his childhood. Eric was nine years old when he was told he had leukemia. He spent six weeks in the hospital.
Even though he was alone, there were some good things about it, and the toys he got made him want to collect for the rest of his life.
They act out this situation by sending an ambulance from the 1960s and a retired ambulance driver on the same route Eric would have taken to get to the hospital.
After several weeks of tests, leukemia was finally ruled out and glandular fever was found to be the cause.
Even though he was pretty sick, he kept his family from getting a deadly disease. Dr. Margaret Rokicka, an oncologist, helped Eric figure out how such a mistake could have happened.

We don’t know the exact date of Eric and Anita’s wedding, but in an interview with Express, Bargain Host said that the two had been together for 13 years.
At the time of the 2013 interview, they had been happy together for more than 21 years.
Eric talked about his personal life by saying, “My wife Anita and I have lived here for 13 years, and my personal space has always been reading.”
Before their older son Sebastian died in a car accident in March 2015, the power couple lived with their two sons, Oliver and Sebastian, in Buckinghamshire. Now there are three of them.
