In the video, her SUV can be seen striking a bike last week in broad daylight. The Councilwoman’s failure to turn around and face the injured was the most upsetting aspect of the affair.

The injured cyclist has been identified as Andrew “Andy” Black, a 29-year-old UberEats delivery driver.
Around eight in the morning on July 19, a cyclist who disregarded the red light was struck by Amy’s Nissan Rogue’s hood at the junction of Martin Luther King Drive and Forrest Street.
Black’s bicycle was torn to bits and thrown flying over the highway. DeGise flew past her way without stopping while he collapsed to the ground.
In the collision with Amy DeGise, cyclist Andrew Black suffered minor injuries to his arms and legs.
While some have criticised Black for disregarding the traffic law, the majority have criticised the Councilwoman for her callous treatment of the injured.
The bicycle rider sustained some small injuries to his wrists and legs as a result of the collision, according to Daily Mail UK.

In the meantime, Black has spoken up to demand justice for DeGise’s lack of regret for her wrongdoings. He’s created a GoFundMe campaign in order to raise $10,000 for his future rent, groceries, and bills.
He promises that DeGise broke his bicycle, which has caused his work to be interrupted, leaving him with little choice but to request the payment. At this time, he has already amassed more than $1,000.

Is Amy DeGise Stepping Down?
Although the now-famous Amy DeGise has not yet resigned, the people of New Jersey is currently calling for her resignation more than any other.
According to Inside New Jersey, James Solomon, one of the council members, declared that he was “horrified” by the video and demanded an immediate resignation.
Additionally, two Jersey City-based organisations that promote bicycle and street safety have made the same demand.
Nearly 1500 people have signed a petition Megan Carolan launched on Change.org calling for the Councilwoman’s immediate resignation in light of the event.
Amy has remained silent and removed herself from social media and media engagements despite widespread demonstrations against her.

On November 2, 2021, Amy DeGise won the general election race for an at-large Jersey City Council seat.
Since she began participating in politics in 2017, the 2021 elections have proven to be her most successful venture. She had been a history teacher before that.
DeGise served as the vice president and recording secretary for the executive board of the Hudson County Area Vocational Technical Association, according to Ballotpedia.
