Casey Diskin, 34, was charged with 16 charges of participating in the unlawful practise of a health profession and two counts of identity theft after he pretended to be a board-certified therapist at an autistic treatment facility in Livingston County, Oakland.
According to the Michigan Attorney General’s Office, Diskin started working at the Oxford Recovery Center, which is situated on Whitmore Lake Road in Brighton, in 2018. She was a Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst, but did not have the required qualifications (BCBA). Additionally, she was never given a licence by the State of Michigan. According to media reports, Diskin had been utilising the medical licence and certification number of another BCBA named Dr. Kimberly Peck for years.

According to @MIAttyGen, Kimberly Casey Coden-Diskin, 34, of Oakland County, has been charged with impersonating a health professional.
She is accused of:
• 16 counts of four-year felony involving the unlawful practise of a health profession
Two identity theft counts are five-year felonies.
Diskin collaborated with parents of autistic children as well as other kids who shared their diagnosis. She didn’t have a licence or certification while working for them. She is currently accused of illegally faking her licence by using the BACB certification number of a different state-certified individual.
The centre has let go of Casey Diskin. Diskin and Tami Peterson, CEO of the Oxford Recovery Center, who recruited and defended Diskin, are reportedly still good friends.

Diskin allegedly interacted with a particularly vulnerable group of parents and children with autism while carrying out job-related duties that called for certification and licensure.

In Livingston County District Court, Kimberly Casey Coden-Diskin, 34, of Oakland Co., was charged with two counts of identity theft and 16 counts of engaging in the unlicensed practise of a health profession.
At the Oxford Recovery Center in Brighton, she is charged with pretending to be a board-certified therapist.
Kim Harden, Kennedy’s mother, said she has been shivering since learning that Kimberly Casey Coden Diskin, or Casey Diskin as she is now known, has been charged. Kennedy, Kennedy’s then 10-year-old nonverbal daughter, took her to the institution.
She uttered:
“I’ve been mute and shaking ever since the news broke. I know this wouldn’t have been possible if you hadn’t been there to listen to us tell our tale, but I feel like we have finally been heard and taken seriously.”
Last summer, as a result of Diskin’s therapy, Kennedy experienced unfavourable emotional and physical symptoms, which Harden boldly discussed with the public.
Harden remarked:
“I can’t even count how many panic attacks we’ve experienced while being awake. Even though my daughter is still working through problems, I can now say that I am regaining my happy girl.”
Before the media became involved, complaints went unaddressed, and criminal charges were dropped before the attorney general and the division looking into healthcare fraud launched an inquiry.

Dr. Peck, whose name Diskin was using, stated:
“She has worked for me three times using my certification number. My certification board has given me a new number after I repeatedly reported it to several regulatory (bodies) in the state of Michigan and other organisations.”
Diskin, a convicted felon who stole identities and pretended to be a board-certified behavioural analyst while using another person’s medical licence and certification, has now been charged with a total of 20 offences.
The Attorney General’s Office’s Health Care Fraud Division (HCFD) is still looking into the matter. Coden-probable Diskin’s cause hearing is scheduled for August 30.
