Trevor Reed was detained in Russia after attending a party with his girlfriend, according to police. After three years in prison, he was released as part of a prisoner trade.

Lina Tsybulnik, Trevor Reed’s Russian Girlfriend: Current Whereabouts

Trevor Reed met his Russian lover, Lina Tsybulnik, when he was in his early twenties. The University of North Texas was his current place of study, and he was pursuing an International Studies degree at the time. He had to chose the Russian language because it was a requirement for his degree program.

It was rumored that they were planning to get married. It appears that she is simply the fiancée, according to current reports, although it is unclear where she is at this point.

On July 30, 2020, she was last seen reacting to Reed’s verdict hearing at Moscow’s Golovinsky district court, which took place in Moscow.

Reed came to Russia in 2019 with Lina Tsybulnik, who was then 28 years old at the time. He traveled to Moscow in order to learn the language. However, he was unable to return since he had been detained by the Russian police for intoxication and assault and had been brought to a jail to recover from his ordeal.

When it was determined that he had been subjected to cruel treatment while in prison, the situation became even worse.

Trevor Reed’s parents are overjoyed to learn that their son has been released from prison. The family released a statement in which they stated that their “prayers have been answered.”

Reed was sentenced to nine years in prison in the Russian territory in July of 2002 after being accused with the crime. He was wrongly accused of putting the lives of government employees in danger while on the job while he was on leave. The Texas marine and his family, on the other hand, have always denied the allegations.

Following the announcement, Vice President Joe Biden expressed his happiness at being able to inform Mr. Reed’s family of his return.

“Trevor’s parents’ voices conveyed their concern for Trevor’s health as well as their need for his presence in their lives. We had to make some painful decisions during the talks that allowed us to bring Trevor back home. These are decisions I do not take lightly.”

Trevor Reed has been replaced by Konstantin Yaroshenko

Trevor Reed’s freedom has been demanded by the Russian foreign ministry in return for the release of Konstantin Yaroshenko.

On drug smuggling accusations, Yaroshenko, a Russian pilot, had been facing a hefty prison sentence. He was apprehended in Liberia in 2010 and is currently serving a twenty-year sentence in prison there.

Reed’s parents had protested outside the White House last month, and they were successful in getting the prison swap completed. They were eventually successful in obtaining an audience with the President. Following President Biden’s decision to commute Mr. Yaroshenko’s sentence, the trade was completed through Turkey.
