Seven years after her life-threatening health crisis, the 78-year-old 10-time Grammy winner pleased fans by playing more than a dozen of her hit songs at the Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island on Sunday.
At the Kennedy Center Honors in 2021, Joni Mitchell disclosed details of her health problems, including a brain aneurysm. She was apparently making “excellent progress” despite the fact that she was unable to walk for a while after the event.

The root source of the issue is still a mystery. But although some doctors and scientists say Morgellons disease is a mental illness, others think it’s brought on by a tick-borne bacterial infection comparable to Lyme disease.
