Six Flags Great America is a park with rides and other fun things to do. It is in Gurnee, Illinois, which is near Chicago.

Three people were reportedly shot in the parking lot of Gurnee’s Six Flags Great America, which led to a large police presence.
It is not thought that the people’s injuries are life-threatening. The park was cleared out because it closes at 8 p.m.
WGN News says that Laurie Walker and her daughter Grace were in the park at the time of the shooting. Walker said that they were in line for the “Ricochet” ride in the southwest part of the park at 7:50 p.m. when she saw scared people running away.
Laurie, who was at the scene, said that someone told everyone to get down and yelled that there was an active shooter. She did what they said because she didn’t know what was going on.
Laurie and Grace climbed over two fences to get “out of her husband’s line of sight.” Laurie says that after a short time of hiding, she was able to leave the park.

Officers are actively searching the Six Flags Great America area, authorities told WGN News, to make sure everyone is safe and sound.
People said on social media that the Gurnee amusement park was locked up right before it was supposed to close at 8 p.m. In a later tweet, there was a video of people leaving the building while dozens of emergency vehicles in the parking lot flashed red and blue lights.
A video that is going around social media shows people in the park huddling together and hiding where they were waiting in line.
Six Flags was about to close when the shooting happened. So far, no one has been found guilty of anything related to the incident.
The police are working hard to find the shooters and have asked anyone who knows anything about them to get in touch with them.
After the mass shooting, people on Twitter are scared. One person wrote, “There’s no question that Americans live their lives knowing that a mass shooting could happen at any time.”
