Career of Savannah Guthrie
Before moving back to Tucson and taking a position with NBC station KVOA in 1995, she performed her first career in broadcasting for two years at ABC affiliate KMIZ in Columbia, Missouri. After working for five years in Arizona, she accepted a position at WRC-TV in Washington, D.C., where she covered important topics like the 9/11 Pentagon attack and the 2001 anthrax attacks.

On May 9, 2011, it was announced that Guthrie would join Natalie Morales and Al Roker as co-hosts of the 9 a.m. hour and the show’s Chief Legal Editor after filling in for Meredith Vieira and Ann Curry on Today. Curry and Morales were then promoted to primary co-host and news anchor, respectively, after Vieira announced her retirement from the show as co-host of the main program. Guthrie left The Daily Rundown for Today on June 9, 2011, and was subsequently named chief legal analyst for NBC News. She made her debut in this position on May 25, 2011. Curry would be replaced as Today’s co-anchor by Guthrie, according to a June 29, 2012 announcement. On July 9, 2012, she began working as Matt Lauer’s co-anchor.

While on vacation in the Turks and Caicos Islands in late 2009, she started dating Democratic political and communications consultant Michael Feldman. 2013 saw their engagement. On March 15, 2014, they got married in Tucson, Arizona. Guthrie revealed she was four months pregnant two days later.

Guthrie made the announcement that she and her husband were expecting a second child on June 7, 2016. In 2016, she gave birth to their second child.
