In Springfield Gardens, Sakiyna Thompson was detained on suspicion of murder.
A woman was stabbed on July 13, 2022, at her Tamarac apartment in the 9300 block of Northwest 57th Street. At the scene, she was pronounced deceased. Even though the authorities withheld the victim’s details, Kayla Hodgson, 23, was the deceased woman, according to her acquaintances.
Around three o’clock, the Broward Sheriff’s Office reported getting a call regarding a woman who was unresponsive. The victim had already passed away by the time the rescuers and deputies arrived. They continue to invest in the passing.

Meanwhile, the victim’s acquaintances claim that she was a kind woman and a party animal. In South Florida, she held a bartending position.
Swana Alphonse, a former employee of the deceased, says: “I mean, I was horrified. The majority of my staff members were, especially those that knew her and worked with her. We’re all waitresses and bartenders, so it’s just ridiculous and terrifying. And any one of us may have become that.
Sakiyna Thompson’s Arrest and Charges
First-degree murder is the alleged crime against Sakiyna Thompson. In order to avoid extradition to Florida, the suspect is currently being detained at Rikers Island.
On July 25, 2022, a warrant for the defendant’s arrest was issued. However, the New York State Police withheld any information about her.
Prior to this, the police had simply described the occurrence as a homicide. Regarding the circumstances surrounding Thompson’s slaying of Hodgson, the investigators gave no details. Because they have found compelling evidence, the Broward Sheriff’s office has made Thompson’s mugshot public.
The police expect to transfer Thompson to Broward County and file first-degree murder charges against him this week.

Sakiyna Thompson, 28, is a resident of Queens, New York’s Springfield Gardens area.
She lists her job title as “Nail Technician” and the name and location of the Nu Impressions Hair Salon on her LinkedIn profile. She had previously been employed by Junie Bee Nails.
Hodgson was killed by her for an arbitrary reason. The motivation of the murderer is yet unknown, according to the officials.
The victim’s family has established a GoFundMe account to help assist her family in the interim. The goal is to fund $50,000 USD, but so far they have amassed more than $15,000. The gift would help her family get over some financial difficulties. The funds will go toward paying for the funeral.
Kayla Hodgson’s family members have praised the 23-year-vivacious old’s and devoted character. Her family, including her parents and siblings, will always miss her.
