Ukraine says Russia stole several Hundred thousands tonnes of grain

According to the vice chairman of the Ukrainian agricultural producers organization UAC on Wednesday, Russia has taken over 600,000 tonnes of food from occupied Ukrainian land and exported some of it.

According to UAC vice chairman Denys Marchuk, who spoke on Ukrainian media, Ukraine would seek reimbursement from Russia for every grain theft and agricultural property destruction.
“To date, over 600,000 tonnes have been taken from agricultural enterprises and carried to the Crimean Peninsula’s temporarily controlled zone, from whence it gets to ports, mainly Sevastopol, and from there, ships head to the Middle East,” Marchuk stated.

He went on to state that around 100,000 tonnes of grain had been transshipped into Syria.
Ukraine is one of the world’s leading grain exporters, and Western countries have accused Russia of endangering global hunger by closing Ukraine’s Black Sea ports.
Moscow claims that Western sanctions are to blame for the global food crisis.
