Rico Burton: Who Was He? Following the fatal stabbing of his cousin, Tyson Fury calls for peace.

Tyson Fury’s cousin Rico Burton was fatally murdered by a group of thugs yesterday. The professional boxer made this announcement on his Instagram account, grabbing everyone’s attention.

Tyson, a British professional boxer, is a two-time world heavyweight champion after fighting Deontay Wilder in 2020. He also held the The Ring magazine belt from 2020 until August 2022.

Through his Instagram account, Tyson Fury has just announced that his cousin was fatally stabbed yesterday. While many of his followers gathered in the comment area to express their sympathy, he brought attention to the grave problem that is currently engulfing the western world: the ease with which firearms can be carried.

A third of all stabbing killings in England are reported by the Metropolitan Police, but London set a troubling new record in 2021 with 30 teen stabbing homicides.

At recent crisis talks with police, youth workers, and school administrators that the BBC attended, community activist Tilisha Goupall revealed her terrible story of watching her 15-year-old brother Jermaine die in front of her. Since his passing in 2017, she has battled to try to prevent such calamities.

Referring to a group of students who were about to enter secondary school, all of the primary school-aged children said they were worried about being stabbed.

This is undoubtedly a serious problem. In his essay, the professional boxer also discussed the necessity of enacting tough gun legislation. “UK government needs to bring higher sentencing for knife crime, its a pandemic and you don’t know how bad it is until its one of your own,” he stated as part of his commentary.

In a similar vein, one commenter writes, “I’m truly sorry for your family’s tragic loss. You’re right to make the penalty formal; if you do, they might reconsider carrying a knife. Tyson, use your platform to make your voice known and advocate for a better future for our children.”

 Rico Burton’s Family Information

After the tragedy, Rico Burton’s parents and other members of his immediate family are distraught. Tyson does not specify his relationship to the deceased as a cousin, but everyone in the Fury family has been absolutely devastated by this.

Tyson also doesn’t utilize Rico’s photo in his Instagram post. Instead, he has a graphic with the words “Stop Knife Crime” on it.

Last night, my cousin was murdered. This is becoming insane, fools carry knives, stabbed in the neck.

On the other hand, the boxer’s father was also born in Tuam, the hometown of the boxer’s paternal grandfather. The Furys are primarily of Gaelic ancestry and derive their current surname from Fiodhabhra. While Fury’s maternal grandmother is from County Tipperary, his mother was born in Belfast.

Origin of Fury

Fury, who identifies strongly with his Irish heritage, has had difficulty obtaining dual citizenship because, in the 1960s, Irish Travellers only registered births through baptism with the church rather than formally with the state; as a result, his father’s birth in County Galway was not civilly recorded.

Two people are in custody for the stabbing death of Rico Burton, Tyson Fury’s cousin, outside an Altrincham club.

Police CSI teams are working in Altrincham after a man dies after being stabbed.
After Rico Burton, the cousin of boxing champion Tyson Fury, was killed early this morning, a second guy has been detained (August 21). Following a stabbing outside a bar in Altrincham just after 3 a.m. on Sunday, the 31-year-old regrettably passed away in the hospital, according to Greater Manchester Police.

Police have now revealed that a second man, age 20, has also been detained on suspicion of killing Mr. Burton. Earlier, police had confirmed the arrest of a man, age 21, on murder suspicion. Another man, a 17-year-old, was attacked and is still in the hospital with critical injuries.

Tyson Luke Fury: Who Is He?

Tyson Luke Fury is a British professional boxer who was born on the 12th of August 1988. He is a two-time world heavyweight champion, having held the WBC title since defeating Deontay Wilder in 2020, and The Ring magazine title from 2020 to August 2022; previously, he held the unified WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO, and The Ring titles after defeating Wladimir Klitschko in 2015. He is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, having won the gold medal in the men’s heavyweight division in both the Fury became the third heavyweight, after Floyd Patterson and Muhammad Ali, to hold The Ring magazine championship twice with his victory over Wilder. He is largely acknowledged by media sources to be the lineal heavyweight champion as a result of this victory.  According to ESPN’s rankings, Fury is the greatest active heavyweight in the world as of the month of August 2022.  In addition to this, ESPN ranks him as the fourth best active boxer, pound-for-pound, while the TBRB places him in sixth place. The Boxing Writers Association of America ranked him sixth overall.

Due to the fact that he was born in Manchester to an Irish Traveller family, Fury competed for both England and Ireland during his amateur career. His ancestors came from Belfast and Galway, and his parents moved to England when they were very young. Fury was born in England.  In 2008, he competed in the ABA and won the super-heavyweight championship. Later that same year, at the age of 20, he turned professional. He had already won the English heavyweight title twice, and in 2011, he defeated Derek Chisora, who had a perfect record of 14-0, to become the British and Commonwealth champion. After that, he earned the titles of Irish and WBO Intercontinental heavyweight champion, and then in 2014, he defeated Chisora once more in a rematch for the titles of European and WBO International heavyweight champion. This success, combined with his undefeated record of 24–0, led to Fury being given the opportunity to fight long-time world champion Wladimir Klitschko in Germany. Fury prevailed in the fight by receiving a unanimous decision victory.

Due to a rematch clause in his contract with Klitschko, Fury was unable to grant a fight with the IBF’s mandatory challenger, Vyacheslav Glazkov. As a result, Fury was forced to relinquish his IBF title ten days after the Klitschko fight, which resulted in the IBF taking the belt away from him. Because Fury was struggling with his mental health, which led to drinking, recreational drug usage, and excessive weight gain, the rematch was never scheduled to take place. In addition to that, he was accused of anti-doping rule infractions. In 2016, he gave up the titles he held with the WBA, the WBO, and the IBO. In early 2018, The Ring stripped him of the last title he held. Later on in same year, after an inactivity period of more than two years, Fury challenged Wilder for the WBC heavyweight title. Wilder won the fight. The bout was controversially declared a draw by the referee. As a result of Fury’s outstanding performance against Wilder, which included bouncing back from a heavy knockdown in the last round, the Comeback of the Year award from The Ring as well as a number of other prizes were bestowed upon him.  After a dominant performance in the rematch that took place in February 2020, Fury won the fight against Wilder by scoring a technical knockout in the seventh round. In the third and final fight of the trilogy, which took place in October 2021, the knockout of Wilder occurred in the eleventh round.

Today’s afternoon news conference is scheduled to provide more details about the murder investigation and the men who have been detained. On our website and Facebook page, you may follow live updates from the press conference.
