Even Ran Takahashi’s siblings have decided to pursue a career in volleyball after seeing their brother’s success in the sport. Ran’s parents have always been encouraging of his endeavors in the sport.
Outside Hitter Ran Takahashi is a Japanese male volleyball player who has competed for Japan in the Olympics and currently plays for the Nippon Sport Science University club.
After performing a false spike in an attempt to set the ball up for the captain of the Japanese volleyball team, Yki Ishikawa, to score, Ran gained notoriety on the internet.
Who Are Ran Takahashi’s Mom and Dad?
The identities of Ran Takahashi’s parents have not been made public at this time; however, we do know that his mother is of mixed Japanese and German ancestry.
Through Ran’s grandfather, Ran’s ancestry may be traced back to an American family. A native of the Kyoto area of Japan, Ran arrived into the world on September 2nd, 2001.
When Ran was in the second grade of elementary school, he joined the school’s volleyball team and began playing the sport. During his time in junior high school, Ran competed for the Kyoto Municipal Hachigaoka School squad.
Because of his height, he spent much of his time in first grade playing the position of libero. After completing his high school education, Ran opted to pursue a degree in sport science at Nippon Sport Science University.
On December 19, he made his debut in the top Italian league for the first time by coming in as a substitute for Modena Volley during the third set of the match.
Meet Ran Takahashi Siblings
Rui Takahashi, Ran’s older brother, is one and a half years older than Ran, and Riri Takahashi, Ran’s younger sister, is one year younger than Ran.
He followed in his brother’s footsteps and started playing volleyball, and his sister is also a volleyball player.
Together with his brother, he manages a channel on YouTube that has the moniker RanRui, which is a portmanteau of the two of their given names.
During his earlier years, Ran did not appreciate having to train with his brother, as he mentioned in an interview with SunChlorella Sports.
Because of the constant pressure from Rui, he had no choice but to get up at six in the morning and go to the park with his brother in order to work on their volleyball skills.
Rui has assumed the role of team captain for the volleyball squad representing Nippon Sports Science University.
Ran Takahashi’s Girlfriend
Due to the fact that Ran Takahashi has never addressed the topic of his having a girlfriend, it would appear that he does not have one.
In addition, considering that he is only at the beginning of his professional career, it is possible that he will choose to avoid connections that could potentially hinder his job for the time being.
After completing his high school education, Ran opted to pursue a degree in sport science at Nippon Sport Science University.
In the 2020 All Japan Intercollegiate Volleyball Championship, he led his team to a runner-up finish, and he also won the award for Best Scorer in the competition.
During the Summer Olympics in 2021, he represented Japan on the men’s national volleyball team as an outside hitter for their team.
Ran’s current club, Pallavolo Padova, has extended his contract with the player such that it will take him through the 2022-2023 season.
