Rachel Shenton: Career

Small recurrent roles in different television programs, including Holby City and Waterloo Road, marked the start of Shenton’s acting career.

She has acted in two British films and starred in a number of television commercials for the Ministry of Defence, DFS, and Sega Superstars Tennis.

She resumed making frequent appearances in 2008, playing Sofia’s errant sister “Trisha” in the Nickelodeon shows Genie in the House and Five’s Sophia’s Diary.

It was revealed in April 2010 that Shenton had been chosen to play ambitious beauty model Mitzeee Minniver in Hollyoaks. Shenton stated that her character was the exact opposite of her.

Her appointment was made as a part of the serial’s significant makeover under new producer Paul Marquess. Shenton’s similarities to Cheryl Cole in the tabloids garnered media attention before her character even made an appearance on TV.
