In the process, they find out that Ben has been hiding a lot, which makes it hard to figure out why he wants to travel through time. Quantum Leap Episode 6 Recap

The next jump Ben Song makes takes him to San Francisco in 1989. Today is the day of the terrible earthquake that killed a lot of people. This time, Ben meets a man named John whose marriage is about to fall apart. Naomi, his wife, wants a divorce, and as they talk about what will happen next, an earthquake hits. Ben finds out pretty quickly that he is there to save Jason, John and Naomi’s son.

When Jason learned that his parents were getting a divorce, he went back to where they used to live. During the earthquake, that building fell on Jason, killing him. When Ben finds out that Jason and Naomi aren’t getting along, it affects him personally. As his memories come back to him, he thinks about how their relationship was like the one he had with his own mother. He feels bad that he didn’t spend much time with his mother when she was alive, and he doesn’t want Jason to feel the same way. He is willing to do anything to make things better between him and Naomi.

Jenn, Magic, and Ian figure out who the Leaper X, the other time traveler, is when they get back home. It turns out to be a marine named Richard Martinez, but nothing about him makes me think he has anything to do with time travel. At least not yet.

Is Ben trying to go to the future at the end of Quantum Leap episode 6?

Even though Ben’s plans were kept secret, his team was slowly getting closer to finding out what was going on. That’s what they thought. Ben’s jumps weren’t random, Ian figured out. In fact, they were timed so that he would have enough momentum to jump further back in time. This would have helped the team figure out where Ben was going, which would have given them a better idea of why he was going there. But this will change when Leaper X comes along.

Jenn thinks that, like Ben, Leaper X should look like himself instead of the person he has leaped into if he is also traveling through time and they can see him through the imaging chamber. Now that they know what he looks like, they run his picture through software that can recognize faces, and the name Richard Martinez comes up. Jenn and Magic go to see him, but Martinez doesn’t know anything about the Quantum Leap project or traveling through time.

Taking everything into account, Jenn suggests three ways out of their situation. The first is that someone else has been working on a project to travel through time, and Martinez is their leaper. The other is that it has been secretly worked on by a private company. The third possibility, which might have seemed unlikely in another situation, seems to be the most likely one right now: Martinez has jumped from the future. Even though Magic and his team are in charge of the project right now, they don’t know how it will turn out. They don’t know who will be in charge by then or how many people will have jumped. Since Martinez hasn’t jumped yet, it’s possible that he will join the project at some point in the future.

Up until now, the team had only been looking back and thinking about the past. But now they know that you can also travel to the future, and the fact that there is another time traveler, most likely from the future, shows that they may have had a limited view of things up until now. Ian wonders if Ben’s path isn’t leading him deeper into the past but rather into the future.

Since Ben made some changes to the program before he jumped, and the team hasn’t figured out what those changes were yet, they don’t know if he set his destination in the past or in the future. If he is really going to the future, it will be even harder for his team to figure out what he wants to do.

Ben’s past trips made sense in the context of his life. All of the events have already happened, and they have everything they need to study a certain day or event and move forward from there. But they have no idea what will happen in the future. They can’t think of any reason why Ben would do something so crazy. But one thing is for sure. He couldn’t have been led away from his happy present to an uncertain future by something good.

Plot

Sam jumps on Frankie after he seems to have just made love to Don Geno’s girlfriend, Teresa Pacci, in Geno’s attic. Pacci is Don Geno’s lover. They are going to the wedding of Primo, Frankie’s brother, and Angela, who is the daughter of Geno. After Teresa leaves Frankie, Don Geno comes up to her. She has been having an affair with him for a while. Teresa wants to break up with Geno, but Geno tells her that the relationship will end when he says it will. Geno thinks Teresa is seeing someone else, but Teresa says she is not. Geno tells one of his goons to find Teresa’s boyfriend.

Sam, on the other hand, is walking around the wedding guests of Primo and Angela. The two people who just got married ask Sam to sing Volare on stage for them. Sam is put in front of the crowd and is able to sing the whole song with the help of Al, who speaks Italian well. After that, he and Al leave the crowd to have a talk. Al tells Sam that Ziggy is not being helpful, so Al can’t tell Sam anything about his mission other than the fact that Sam is a mafia hitman, which scares Sam. Al also tells Sam that Ziggy has a plan to get Sam back to his own time, but Sam will have to do everything Ziggy tells him to do.

The next day, Sam sees Teresa working as a hairdresser in a salon while walking down the street with Frankie’s two brothers, Primo and Segundo. Sam decides he needs to talk to Teresa, so he goes inside to get a haircut. Teresa is happy with Sam’s look, but surprised by it. She sits him down for a haircut. She tells him that Sam’s life would be in danger if Geno saw them together. This tells Sam that Teresa and Geno are having an affair.

Tony La Palma, Frankie’s dad, has joined Primo and Segundo outside the salon to wait for Sam. Geno stops his car and gets out to talk to them. When he sees Sam getting a haircut from Teresa, he starts to think something is wrong. Frankie’s dad tries to get Geno to believe that he sent Sam to the salon to find out who Teresa’s boyfriend is by talking to the hairstylists and other women there. Geno doesn’t believe Sam, but he says he won’t kill Sam as long as Sam confirms the story. When Geno walks into the salon, he tells Teresa to move out of the way. He asks Sam why he is in the salon with Teresa while holding a razor to his throat. Geno is speaking Italian, so Sam can’t understand him. Al comes in and tells Sam that he knows what Geno wants to hear. He then makes Sam repeat his answers. Sam can tell Geno in Italian that it was his father’s idea and that he thinks he can find out who Teresa’s lover is by listening to what the women in the salon are saying. Geno smiles and walks away after hearing Sam’s answer.

Al tells Sam that Ziggy has now come up with a plan to bring Sam back to the present: Sam must repeat what happened right before he jumped in and plug in a hairdryer at a certain address in Buffalo, New York. Since Sam is in Brooklyn, he decides to send Primo and Segundo to Buffalo to plug in the hair dryer while he calls Teresa and asks her to meet him in Geno’s attic and make love like they did the day before. Sam tells Teresa that the meeting is important for their future, even though Teresa isn’t sure.

Primo and Segundo take a hairdryer from Teresa’s salon and drive to Buffalo. They pull up to what looks like a fraternity house and plug the hairdryer into an outlet on the outside of the house. As soon as Primo turns on the hairdryer, an electrical surge knocks out the power on the whole street. Geno’s goon tells him that Sam and Teresa have just climbed up Geno’s trellis and are meeting in Geno’s attic. Geno is angry and plans to get his own back.

Primo’s damage to the power grid is now affecting most of the East Coast. Sam and Teresa are making out in Geno’s attic. Sam isn’t sure if he can do what he plans to do. He doesn’t want to lie, so he tells her that he is not the Frankie she knows. Teresa says that it doesn’t matter if he lies because men always lie to her. Sam tells her that she is special and deserves better. The two start to kiss, but Geno comes along and holds a gun to their heads. Sam says that he is to blame for the affair and tells Geno that he insisted on bringing Teresa to the attic even though she said she didn’t want to go. Geno tells him that he respects a man who is honest about his death. Teresa steps in and tells Geno that she wanted to go to the attic. Geno is about to shoot them both when all of a sudden, the power goes out at his house, turning off the lights. Sam uses the distraction to get Geno’s gun, and then he and Geno start fighting over who is in charge. Sam suddenly jumps out of Frankie and into Don Geno as they do this. Now, the real Frankie is back, but she has lost her memory. When he sees Sam/Geno, he says that they are not guilty. But Sam now knows what he needs to do: he needs to keep Frankie and Teresa together. When he asks them both if they love each other, they both say that they do. Sam knows that he needs to find a way to tell everyone that he agrees to them getting married so that when the real Geno comes back, he can’t keep getting revenge.

Frankie’s grandmother is playing bingo at the local church hall, so Sam takes Frankie and Teresa there. Sam asks the priest to tell Don Geno that Frankie and Teresa are getting married. The priest does this, and Sam also tells Frankie that he can’t keep working for the mob. Al seems to say that Ziggy’s theory didn’t work because Sam didn’t do everything Ziggy told him to do. Sam doesn’t understand why he hasn’t jumped out of Geno’s body yet. Al tells Sam that he has one last job to do: pick the winning bingo number, so that Frankie’s grandmother can win a game for the first time.
