The Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League are led by Peter Carroll, who is also the team’s head coach and executive vice president (NFL).
The vice president was the head football coach at USC from 2000 to 2009. During that time, he won six bowl games and back-to-back National Championships in 2003 and 2004.
His first jobs as a coach for the New York Jets in 1994 and the New England Patriots from 1997 to 1999 were not very successful.

Pete Carroll met Glena Goranson when they were both going to school at the University of the Pacific. While he was there, Pete played football, and Goranson played indoor volleyball. Goranson and Carroll got married in 1976.

In 2002, the athlete became a graduate assistant for the USC Trojans football team. He reported to his father, Pete Carroll, who was the head coach at the time.
Brennan worked on offense, special teams, and tight ends in his first year as a coach. In his second year, he worked with the tight ends.
In 2004, the player was given a full-time job as an assistant coach for the tight ends. Brennan was named the team’s Recruiting Coordinator in 2007, on top of his job as an assistant coach.
After 13 years in college, he joined an NFL staff for the first time on February 9, 2015. His father, Pete, was also on the staff. Brennan was given a new job as an offensive line assistant coach.
Before the 2020 NFL season, Pete’s older son got a raise and a new job as run game coordinator.
On January 1, 2021, he joined the staff of the Arizona Wildcats as offensive coordinator and O-line coach. This brought him back together with head coach Jedd Fisch.

She played indoor volleyball at the University of Southern California as a walk-on, and she was the best defender on the team. Jaime went to college to study communications and media studies.

Nate, Pete’s younger son, coaches football
Nate Carroll is a football coach and senior offensive assistant for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL). He has worked for his father, Pete, his whole life.
Nate was a three-star athlete in high school, and mostly small colleges were interested in him. Jim Harbaugh coached at San Diego at the time.
He didn’t want to play college football, but his father was the head coach at the University of Southern California, where he enrolled. In 2010, the football coach got his Ph.D. in psychology from USC.
In 2013, new Jacksonville head coach Gus Bradley, who had been the defensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks, offered him a job as an offensive assistant coach. In Super Bowl XLVIII, he was a part of the coaching staff that beat the Denver Broncos. This was his first Super Bowl win.
Nate was put in charge of wide receivers as an assistant coach in 2014. He worked with Kippy Brown and then Dave Canales. He was the team’s wide receivers coach from 2018 to 2021.
Early years
Carroll was born in San Francisco, California, on September 15, 1951. His parents were Rita (nee Ban) and James Edward “Jim” Carroll. Weighing only 110 pounds (50 kg) as a freshman, he needed a special note from a doctor to try out for football. He was a star in football (where he played quarterback, wide receiver, and defensive back), basketball, and baseball. As a senior in 1969, he was named the school’s Athlete of the Year. In April 2009, he was inducted into the first class of the Redwood High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Career
After high school, Carroll went to the nearby College of Marin for two years, where he played football and earned a letter in his second year. He then transferred to the University of the Pacific, where he joined the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and played free safety for the Tigers for two years, earning All-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference honors both years (1971–72) and his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 197.
Carroll tried out for the Honolulu Hawaiians of the World Football League at their training camp in Riverside after he graduated, but he didn’t make the team because he was too small and had shoulder problems. He got a job selling roofing materials in the Bay Area to make ends meet, but he wasn’t good at it, so he quit quickly. It was his only job that wasn’t related to football.
Collegiate assistant (1973–1983)
Chester Caddas, Carroll’s head coach, liked him because he was active and had a good attitude. Caddas offered Carroll a job as a graduate assistant on his coaching staff at Pacific when he found out Carroll was interested in coaching. Carroll agreed, so he went to graduate school and got a secondary teaching license and a Master’s degree in physical education in 1976. He also worked with the wide receivers and secondary defenders for three years as a graduate assistant. During this time, Greg Robinson, Jim Colletto, Walt Harris, Ted Leland, and Bob Cope were all assistant coaches at Pacific. All of them went on to be successful coaches. In 1995, Carroll was given a place in the Pacific Athletic Hall of Fame.
After Carroll graduated from Pacific, his friend Bob Cope got a job at the University of Arkansas, and he persuaded Lou Holtz, who was then the head coach of the Razorbacks, to hire Carroll as well. Carroll worked as a graduate assistant for Cope in the secondary in 1977, making $182 a month. During that season, he met Pat Ruel, who would become his offensive line coach, and Houston Nutt, who would become the head coach of the Razorbacks. Nutt was a backup quarterback at the time. Monte Kiffin, who was the defensive coordinator at Arkansas at the time, would be a mentor to Carroll. Carroll’s wife Glena would help watch Monte’s two-year-old son Lane Kiffin, who would later be Carroll’s offensive coordinator at USC, head coach of the Oakland Raiders and Tennessee Volunteers, and head coach of USC. In 1978, the Razorbacks won the Orange Bowl.
The next season, Carroll moved to Iowa State University to help Earle Bruce with the secondary. When Bruce moved on to Ohio State University, he brought Carroll with him to work as an assistant coach in charge of the secondary. The Ohio State team lost to USC in the 1980 Rose Bowl.
When Monte Kiffin became head coach at North Carolina State University in 1980, he hired Carroll as his defensive coordinator and secondary coach. In 1983, Bob Cope took over as head coach of Pacific, and he hired Carroll to be his assistant and to run the defense.
