Paul Pelosi DUI bust: Nancy Pelosi’s husband was ‘unsteady on his feet and his speech was slurred’

Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, is going to court on Wednesday.

A press release from the Napa County District Attorney’s Office says that the case will be heard on August 3 at 8:30 a.m. in Napa County Superior Court on charges of driving while drunk and hurting someone and driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.08 percent or higher and hurting someone.

As was already said, the California Highway Patrol and court records show that 82-year-old Paul was driving a 2021 Porsche that was hit by a 2014 Jeep when he tried to cross State Route 29 in Napa County around 10:30 p.m. on May 28. Paul was driving east on Walnut Lane at the time. Fox News says that a sample of Paul’s blood taken two hours after the crash showed that his blood alcohol level was 0.08 percent. Now, according to the most recent news, Paul allegedly showed “signs of impairment” during tests, and according to the documents, officers “observed objective signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication.” The complaint says, “He was wobbly on his feet, his speech was slurred, and his breath smelled strongly of an alcoholic drink.” In the first count of the two-count complaint, it also said that Paul hurt the other driver “while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, a drug, and both.”

Paul was taken into custody on May 28 at 11:44 p.m. PT, and he was booked at 4 a.m. on May 29. Paul and the victim, whose name was John Doe, both refused medical care at the scene of the accident. Five days later, John told investigators that he had “pain in his upper right arm, right shoulder, and neck” and was having trouble lifting things. Reports said that Paul was paid $5,000 to get out of jail the morning after the crash.

It will start with a formal reading of the charges, and then the defendant will say how he or she feels about them. The court has not told Paul to show up in person at the arraignment. The Napa County District Attorney’s Office says that he could choose to appear instead through his defense lawyer.
