Pat Carroll died on July 30 at the age of 95. She had won an Emmy for her comedy. The actress was best known for doing the voice of Ursula, the bad sea witch in The Little Mermaid, before she retired.
Her representative, Derek Maki, told Variety that the news was true and that Pat Carroll died peacefully with her best friend by her side. The actress died at her home in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, from pneumonia, her daughter Kerry Karsian told The Hollywood Reporter.

But it was for her legendary work on Caesar’s Hour that she won an Emmy for Best Supporting Performance by an Actress.
In an interview with Kliph Nesteroff, Pat Carroll talked about how much she liked Howard Morris, Carl Reiner, and Sid Caesar from the show Caesar’s Hour. The actress said that she had learned most of what she knows about comedy from watching the three of them perform. She went on to say:
“They had worked together for so long that they just knew when to do things. There was no way they could mess up. Every Saturday night, there were two shows, one for the West Coast and one for the East Coast. If they really didn’t like a sketch they did, those three would sit with the writers in Sid’s dressing room and make a new sketch. Yes, amazing.”
Pat Carroll has also been on popular shows like Laverne & Shirley, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Love Boat, and Designing Women. She has also been on the well-known show ER.
Carroll was a well-known actress and comedian, but she was also a TV host who worked on shows like Password All-Stars, The Match Game, To Tell the Truth, You Don’t Say, I’ve Got a Secret, and The $10,000 Pyramid.
But her big break came when she voiced Ursula in The Little Mermaid, which came out in 1989. She sang one of the most popular songs from the movie Poor Unfortunate Souls, which was a huge hit all over the world.
According to Variety, Carroll thought Ursula was her best performance in her long and successful career.
Pat Carroll’s daughters, actress Tara Karsian and casting director Kerry Karsian, as well as her grandson Evan Karsian-McCormick, will carry on her work. Sean, her son, died 13 years ago.
