Osinachi Nwachukwu, a well-known gospel singer, died on April 8, 2022. God Of Power and The Cry are two of her best-known songs. The artist typically sang songs in Igbo, a language native in southeast Nigeria.

Osinachi Nwachukwu’s husband is being investigated on suspicion of being implicated in her death.

On June 21, 2022, Osinachi’s husband, Peter Nwachukwu, testified in court. Her family has stated unequivocally that the singer died as a result of Peter’s abuse. Aderonke Imana, Osinachi’s twin sister, was the third witness in the courts. She maintains that the singer’s medical records show no evidence of cancer or other diseases.

According to another allegation from Osinachi’s relatives, Peter used to beat her with a mopstick. He also regularly referred to her as a robber or “ashawo” (prostitute).

Osinachi had completed a stage program and received an honorarium, according to Aderonke Imana (about N40,000). Her husband had found the money in her purse and accused her of stealing.

If the courts find Peter guilty on all 23 counts, he will be convicted of homicide. The court has also stated that he would be held at the Kuje prison till then.

On April 8, 2022, Osinachi Nwachukwu died of an unexplained cause. According to the BBC, her case is still ongoing in court.

Nwachukwu’s husband Peter initially claimed that she died of lung cancer. However, the statement has been called into question after Nwachukwu’s relatives stated that she died as a result of Peter’s abuse. The matter is now being investigated.

Nwachukwu’s remains was returned to her village of Amakpoke Umuaku in Abia State for burial on June 15, 2022. She was laid to rest in front of thousands of her fans. The singer’s mother and sister are clearly seen grieving in front of the grave in a published photo.

Osinachi Nwachukwu passed away at the age of 42. She was born in Isuochi, Nigeria, on November 12, 1979.

She was raised in a Christian home and was mentored by Pastor A.K.A Ogene. She rose to prominence after the release of her commercially popular gospel song, Ekweume. She went on to record additional famous songs such as Nara Kele, You No Dey, and Use Me Play.
