Rolando “Nonoy” Andaya Jr., a former representative from Camarines Sur, is said to have passed away early on Thursday morning, according to his family.
Nonoy was the 32nd majority floor leader of the House and the ninth secretary of the Department of Budget and Management during her time in office. He served as the representative for Camarines Sur’s first congressional district beginning in 1998 and continuing until 2006. In October of 2000, he was one of the forty legislators that signed an impeachment objection that was brought against the President of the country at the time, Joseph Estrada.

The early reports from the police state that the Filipino politician and lawyer was discovered dead inside his apartment in Naga City with a bullet hole in his head. The death was ruled a suicide.
His assistant reportedly rushed to his room after hearing a gunshot and found him dead when she arrived there. This information was provided by the Bicol Regional Police Office. The occurrence was referred to as a “suicide incident” by the Naga City police department, however the regional police report did not refer to it as a suicide case.
