Recent allegations have surfaced that US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi elbowed the daughter of fellow lawmaker Mayra Flores, which has led to criticism of Pelosi. A video that was circulating on social media supposedly showing Pelosi pushing Flores’ daughter went viral after it was shared by multiple users.
Following Flores’ swearing-in ceremony at the United States Capitol the previous week, the allegations surfaced. The congressman alleged that Nancy Pelosi elbowed her daughter while they were posing for a photo behind the speaker, and she said that she was proud of her daughter for not allowing the incident bother her:

The video that went viral was initially posted on several social media platforms by a Twitter account called Face of America with the following caption:

After that, it was primarily distributed by other Republicans, one of whom was the actor and producer James Woods from Hollywood. Despite the fact that Flores did not appear to notice the claimed occurrence as the shot was being taken, she did reply to the video on social media:

Pelosi can be seen subtly sliding her arm toward Flores’ kid while posing for the picture in the film that has been slowed down. The image was captured by Flores. On the other hand, it is not entirely obvious whether or not the alleged maneuver was undertaken with the goal of elbowing the child.
Mayra Flores was elected to represent Texas’s 34th Congressional District earlier this month. Her election came as a result of the resignation of Democratic Representative Filemon Vela, who had served in Congress previously. The win of Flores was lauded by Republicans as evidence of an increasing number of Latinos joining their party.
The politician also made history when she became the first congresswoman born in Mexico to serve in the House of Representatives. Nancy Pelosi administered the oath of office to the new member. During the ceremony, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi stated that it was a “great honor” for her to welcome Representative Flores to the House as well as the United States Capitol:
“It is a wonderful honor to welcome Congresswoman Flores to the Capitol as well as to the Congress of the United States of America. With my sincere congratulations, I would like to… I would want to express my gratitude to Congresswoman Flores for having the guts to run for office and offer my best wishes for your election. It’s a privilege to work with someone of your caliber.
In addition, she complimented the politician on her “leadership” and congratulated her on her “beautiful family” before Flores took the oath of office to assume her new position. Mayra Flores is a Border Patrol agent’s wife and a mother of four kids. Her husband also works for the Border Patrol.
